Chewy SEO Strategist in Boston, Massachusetts

Chewy is seeking a SEO Strategist to join our high-performing SEO team in our Boston, MA office. You will play a pivotal role in Chewy’s SEO strategy working with various teams including a dedicated engineering team to implement new features and enhancements to Chewy’s ecommerce experience.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter and effective problem-solver with proven experience working across an organization to get things done. They will be adept at cutting through an onslaught of requests to assess business impact and drive prioritization towards results.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work alongside the SEO Engineering team to execute SEO roadmap initiatives and report results to leadership and peers

  • Identify opportunities for traffic growth across core areas of Chewy.com such as site infrastructure, keyword selection, on-page factors, and scalable content

  • Conduct SEO experiments through our proprietary testing process to ensure changes made for SEO positively impact traffic, revenue, and other KPIs

  • Own SEO strategy execution for a key product at Chewy such as PDP (Product Detail Pages) or PLP (Product Listing Pages)

  • Track impact of SEO and content projects to ensure SEO milestones and goals are met and provide recurring progress reports to Marketing and Product Marketing teams

  • Use data to educate teams at Chewy on SEO performance of their work

  • Fix technical issues such as internal redirects, 404 errors, and internal linking enhancements

  • Identify opportunities to continually test and iterate on landing page templates, modules and content to improve both user experience (e.g. conversion, add-to-cart rate) and SERP performance (e.g. CTR, rankings).

What You’ll Need:

  • 4 years in marketing, engineering, or data/analyst related roles & 2 years of experience in SEO roles with increasing responsibilities

  • Experience performing an active role in the development of new website features or website creation

  • Experience working with SEO tools such as SEOClarity, Botify, Semrush, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, and Ahrefs

  • Data-driven mindset with strong mathematical, analytical, and communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Data analytics experience in Excel / Google Sheets (can perform complex functions such as vlookups, sumifs, pivot tables)

  • Passion and curiosity

  • Flexibility for periodic travel

Bonus (if applicable):

  • Experience with other performance marketing channels such as paid search, paid social, or display

  • Experience with data acquisition and management tools such Google Data Studios, SQL, and Tableau

  • Experience operating an SEO QA process for new website developments
