Job Description Summary
The Senior Technical Product Manager will serve as the team functional owner of key licensing activities to include oversight of component repair and test cell equipment licensing. The individual selected will manage at least one contractor and lead cross-functional project teams, applying technical skill to develop solutions aligned with business strategies in support of the MRO network. The role will: a) support and establish business policies, procedures, standards, and best practices, b) impact quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team and others, and c) have significant input into team priorities. The role has moderate autonomy, applies operational judgment while handling sensitive information, and will utilize persuasion and influencing skills.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Owns the licensing process for substantiated component repairs to CFM and GE MRO partners.
Owns test cell equipment licensing, contract administration, and the commercial relationship.
Positively impacts current and future repair needs for CFM and GE product lines through effective alignment with business strategies.
Partners with CFM and GE repair network leadership for capacity planning and sourcing strategy within the internal and external global MRO space.
Drives initiatives to improve the effectiveness of repair licensing policies and processes, from customer request through approval.
Champions development of metrics and dashboards, to include full support of team FLIGHT DECK initiatives.
Utilizes own in-depth knowledge and other subject matter experts to execute licensing policies and strategies, granting intellectual property access to the global network.
Has knowledge of repair best practices, is aware of the complexity of the MRO market, including factors that differentiate MRO capability.
Uses technical judgment to solve complicated, day-to-day problems leading project teams in support of product lines and customers.
Uses technical experience and analytical thinking to arrive at decisions independently; contributes to commercial pricing discussions and understands customer impact.
Supports other licensing functions as needed and as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business.
Minimum of 5 years in a technical role, preferably within a repair station environment (FAR-145), repair engineering role, or technology development role.
Experience leading project teams across functional disciplines.
Prior experience interacting with customers (MRO or Airline).
Desired Characteristics
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Proven commitment to process improvement, prior experience applying FLIGHT DECK.
Established project management skills.
Ability to segment market, identify and champion action plans to achieve strategic goals.
Technical knowledge relevant to engine hardware and shop component repair.
Willingness to travel to support audit activities and other business needs.
