Microsoft Corporation Senior Program Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

The Commercial Marketplace Business (CMB) team within the Commerce and Ecosystems engineering (C+E) group is responsible for the growth and success of our commercial marketplace – both Microsoft AppSource and Azure Marketplace. This team also creates delivery models and business strategies and drives internal alignment to engage our cloud partners successfully across their journey with Microsoft. This specific role will be on our newly formed customer team. This team is responsible for driving customer growth and retention by delivering an optimal experience and desired engagement pathways in our commercial marketplace (in our web storefronts, in portal, and in-product).

Your job is to lead our procurement strategy for the commercial marketplace (Microsoft AppSource and Azure Marketplace). This strategy should be anchored in defining and delivering optimal customer purchase experiences.

Cloud Platform and Experiences supports our employees in all locations around the country. This job has the option to be remote or located in one of our hubs: Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston or Redmond.

Responsibilities

Focus on customer purchase experience

  • Use customer feedback to create a clear and concise statement of the market problem to solve

  • Pilot new solutions to develop business cases for investment

  • Create personas (buyer and user) that align with product feature and business requirements

  • Write business plans using clearly articulated personas (buyer and user)

  • Integrate personas into specific use case scenarios

  • Write business requirements for new product feature(s)

  • Map end-to-end buyer experience flow

  • Prioritize new feature in the product roadmap planning cycle

  • Manage stakeholder feedback and communications

  • Create and implement launch plans for new features

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in product management including developing market opportunity analyses, business case docs and requirements

  • Familiarity with how engineering teams evaluate and deliver features – either through prior PM experience or time working in engineering teams

  • Experience following a user-centric approach and translating business needs to user experience requirements

  • 3+ years working in cloud computing technologies, or marketplace businesses

  • 8+ years experience in product management, program management, product marketing, or related fields

  • BS/BA degree, MBA preferred
