Microsoft Corporation Senior Program Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

Microsoft 365 continues to experience incredible growth as the company focuses on its productivity cloud strategy and enabling secure remote work for its customers. As part of Microsoft Engineering, The FastTrack team has a primary role in driving this strategy and is looking for individuals that share in the passion to drive business value and customer success using Microsoft 365 and related technologies.

The FastTrack Shared Services team is looking for a seasoned, results-driven, energetic, and hands-on Program Manager to develop and implement solutions around workforce capacity to improve customer and employee satisfaction. The candidate should have a proven background in capacity & resource planning functions in Sales, Services, or Support organizations.

You will need to be comfortable engaging with senior leaders and managing priorities in a fast-paced, complex matrix environment with ability to synthesize requirements from stakeholders & drive feature roadmap with at-scale execution. Responsibilities

Key business metrics & responsibilities will include:

  • Design, develop & implement workforce capacity models, processes, and supporting tools (data elements, usability, and business rules)

  • Develops business insights and technical perspectives from a variety of sources and uses them to define workforce capacity for prioritization and improving customer and employee satisfaction.

  • Land global and regional workforce plan by persona and ensure the right mix of resources are available for achieving organization OKRs (Objective and Key Results).

  • Establish a standard set of OKRs related to workforce planning, capacity, and costing. Partner with Quality team on data accuracy for employee and customer satisfaction measurements

  • Support annual and quarterly financial planning processes by maintaining tight integration with finance for ROI analysis and alignment with budgets through a reliable costing model.

  • Facilitate in-year governance and execute change management to workforce capacity models resulting from incremental approvals and shift in priorities. Recommend mitigation plans for potential capacity gaps.

  • Execute regular structured rhythm of business, prioritization, and communication plan with all stakeholders. Partner closely with engineering teams to deliver actionable insights via simple and intuitive dashboards.

Qualifications

Candidate Competencies:

  • Experience with workforce capacity planning, costing and financial processes around budgeting and ROI analysis.

  • Ability to design and implement enterprise business solutions (people, processes, and tools) to capture data for capacity and resource planning. Prior experience with process re-engineering is desired.

  • Strong experience in managing relationships with business leaders, leading a complex portfolio of programs, enabling leaders to make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellence in communicating new ideas, in clear presentations, that land with senior management and peer teams – Operations, Engineering, Finance, Delivery, BI, among others.

  • Demonstrate leadership, great interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, flexibility, and above all a passion for customers.

  • Able to deal with ambiguity – can effectively cope with change; can shift gears comfortably; can decide and act without having the total picture; can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty.

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years in program management, leading complex initiatives.

  • 3 years of proven experience in workforce capacity planning and analysis roles.

  • 3 years in business analytics.

  • Familiar with Microsoft 365 and/or Cloud solutions

  • Occasional travel (0-25%) is expected in this role.
