Microsoft Corporation Senior Program Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

Microsoft 365 continues to experience incredible growth as the company focuses on its productivity cloud strategy and enabling secure remote work for its customers. As part of Microsoft Engineering, The FastTrack team has a primary role in driving this strategy and is looking for individuals that share in the passion to drive business value and customer success using Microsoft 365 and related technologies.

The FastTrack Shared Services team is looking for a seasoned, results-driven, energetic, and hands-on Program Manager to own FastTrack Scorecard implementation across people, tools, and processes. The candidate should have a proven background with metric management and the ability to synthesize requirements from multiple stakeholders to drive clarity with at-scale execution.

Key business metrics & responsibilities will include:

  • Own implementation and governance of FastTrack Scorecard / OKRs across approved priorities.

  • Orchestrate end-end process for metric definition, measurements, dataset readiness and launch of accurate dashboards.

  • Collaborate with FastTrack product and operations teams to design monthly seasonality and distribution across Regions, Areas, EOUs and Countries to achieve targets.

  • Partner with BI team to deliver FastTrack scorecard performance, key learnings, and challenges via monthly rhythm of business.

  • Facilitate in-year governance to implement changes to scorecard or metric definition resulting from incremental approvals and/or shift in priorities.

  • Analyze customer pipeline and historical performance to recommend KPIs and/or success measures to drive clarity and efficiency with funnel execution.

  • Manage processes to implement and communicate change in customer grouping for strategic customers used for metric calculations.

  • Integrate with Change process to ensure incremental changes are in alignment with metric definition.

  • Work closely with BI team to deliver simple and intuitive dashboards. Understand and communicate impact to stakeholders resulting from any in-year restatements.

  • Regularly analyze insights collected from business rhythms, roles advisory and community groups to identify problem statements related to metric definition and areas of improvement.

  • Execute regular structured rhythm of business, prioritization, and communication plan with all stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across product marketing, workload engineering, finance, field, and data sciences.


Candidate Competencies:

  • Strong experience in managing relationships with business leaders, leading a complex portfolio of programs, enabling leaders to make data-driven decisions.

  • Solid understanding of business and operations fundamentals, including capacity planning, forecasting, budgeting, and key business performance indicators.

  • Broad business acumen with the ability to translate abstract thoughts into understandable messages for wider consumption.

  • Demonstrate leadership, great interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, flexibility, and above all a passion for customers.

  • Exceptional influence without authority and excellent collaboration skills.

  • Excellent communications and presentation skills – able to present, discuss and articulate challenges and accomplishments to a range of audiences, in a concise and effective manner.

  • Able to deal with ambiguity – can effectively cope with change; can shift gears comfortably; can decide and act without having the total picture; can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty.

  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot and Formulas)

  • Bachelors degree is required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years in business planning and scorecard management related functions.

  • 5 years in program management, leading complex initiatives.

  • 3 years in business analytics

  • Familiar with Microsoft 365 and/or Cloud solutions.

  • Occasional travel (0-25%) is expected in this role.
