Tableau’s Cloud Infrastructure Services team needs a talented Senior Product Manager who shares our passion to deliver scalable services and capabilities to delight our Tableau Online customers. At Salesforce, trust is our number 1 value. This PM position plays a key role in defining and creating Tableau Online’s cloud infrastructure strategy so more users can easily discover and use the power of Tableau to answer questions of their data. Our team’s goal is to provide the foundation for Tableau Online’s development and growth. You’ll be working with exceptional engineers and working across the Tableau and Salesforce organizations to deliver serious value-add to our customers and business.

We are seeking a customer and design-obsessed PM with the drive, experience, and passion to take our products to the next level of success.

In this role, you’ll work closely with a variety of internal and sometimes external partners to understand problems, define use cases, and drive the strategy for evolving what and how we use cloud infrastructure to power Tableau Online. Throughout the SDLC you will work across the organization to identify opportunities, gather, scope, and prioritize requirements, and ultimately deliver product features and capabilities that developers love.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to deliver vision and requirement documents with prioritized features, business case, and corresponding justification

  • Excellent technical writing and presentation skills along with the ability to teach and mentor others

  • Strong collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders up and down stream

  • Confidence and ability to talk directly with customers and represent the company when needed

  • Experience and strong understanding of best practices in building scalable services in the Cloud

  • Experience with cloud-based technologies, preferably AWS, such as RDS/Aurora, S3/EFS, Redis, HAProxy, Kubernetes, etc

  • 5+ years software industry experience as PM or Developer delivering value to customers

Some of the things you’ll be doing include:

  • Help define the product strategy and roadmap, so customers can see and understand their data with Tableau at scale.

  • Extensive partnership with engineering teams to prioritize and drive feature specification and design (mostly internally but as well as externally with partners).

  • Participate with strategic customers as a Tableau trusted advisor to ensure their success, manage escalations, requirements analysis and product planning activities.

  • Collaborate with product marketing, operations and business teams on positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy.

  • Collaborate with release management, incident management, and site reliability teams to ensure roll out of changes has minimal impact on our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the product vision for your area: Ensure that it aligns with the overall product and company vision. Be an expert on the domain, the market, the trends. Evangelize the vision constantly so all stakeholders are aligned, have context, and understand where we are going.

  • Represent the customer: Be the champion and voice of customers. Build impactful, personal customer relationships. Bring the customer's voice into the creation process. Own requirements, specifications, and release plans. Collaborate across teams: We win or lose as a team. Product managers play a critical role in creating alignment between engineering teams and stakeholders. A collaborative attitude is essential to the role.

  • Communicate clearly and efficiently: Coordinate product release communications for your components. Define expectations for engineering teams and hold them accountable to success and failures. Work closely with product marketing managers to promote your products both internally and externally and ensure a cohesive message.

  • Represent Salesforce: Be a domain and product expert at customer meetings, industry and corporate events, online in customer community, and social networks.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years software industry experience as PM or a customer facing role delivering value to customers.

  • Top notch written and oral communication skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership, participating in the sales cycles, evangelizing product strategy, and handling sensitive customer escalations.

  • Strong collaboration, influence, and negotiation skills to align the organization around prioritization and delivery of product roadmap.

  • Exceptional time management skills to effectively juggle multiple demanding priorities

  • Proven ability to deliver on commitments.

  • Well-developed leadership, management, and strategic-thinking skills, with the ability to excite and lead others.

  • Demonstrated experience in gathering and transforming product requirements into an actionable product roadmap.

  • Comfortable diving in when tactical requirements necessitate.
