Senior Product Manager, Genotyping Agrigenomics

The Genetic Sciences Division (GSD) is a $1.7 billion business with 1100+ employees across the globe. GSD provides high value genomic information to assist critical decisions in research and applied markets, including Basic Research, Clinical Research, Diagnostics, Forensics and Agriculture.

How will you make an impact?

A passionate Senior Product Manager who enjoys being with customers and demonstrates proven ability to question the existing condition and inspire change. You will be working in a global position leading all aspects of the portfolio strategy, goals and growth initiatives, including knowledge of the global market segments, trends in the market both customer and economic, competition assessments, and delivering on 3-5-year product plans in collaboration with cross functional teams. Working together with our platform technologies and agrigenomics segment team members, you will be driving the development and implementation of new business models, new products and help develop the product roadmap to grow the Agrigenomics genotyping franchise. We will work closely with Key Opinion Leaders and customers to understand what they seek to accomplish. You will become our internal product champion by articulating why the innovative solutions to be developed will enable successes of our customers.

What will you do?

Product Life Cycle

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver "best-to-market" products with global reach: product demand planning, forecasting, pricing, finance, service/support, QA/QC, operation, regulatory, marketing, and commercialization for the overall microarray agrigenomics portfolio

  • Develop the go to market strategies for all existing and new products and services, including but not limited to positioning, sales enablement tools, and annual pricing.

  • Support field efforts by quickly resolving customer problems, building strong customer relationships, and relaying frontline market intel back to broader teams for continuous product improvement.

  • Collaborate with the sales team to generate new opportunities, build and adjust commercial success for pipeline and sales growth.

  • Identify, establish and manage strategic customer relationships in focused customer and market segments to deliver impactful business results.

Product Planning & Market Research

  • Conduct voice of the customer activities assess market trends and competition offerings to develop and implement proactive strategies to strengthen the product line’s business advantage.

  • Be proactive in channel partner relationships and communications.

  • Synthesize conclusions from market research to communicate key findings to the business team and drive action.

Product Line Performance

  • Analyze and report regularly on the financial performance for the product portfolio: sales trends, market pricing trends, price-volume trends.

  • Lead all product management related activities and champion cross-functional activities to improve overall portfolio performance including revenue growth, margin improvement, cost reduction, quality and delivery.

Marketing Communications

  • Support the marketing communications team to develop appropriate collateral support including catalogs, launch packages, sales communications, instruction sheets, and web enabled tools for driving sales.


  • Domestic and international travel 25% of the time

How will you get here?


  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S./B.A.) in a scientific major (molecular biology, genetics, bioengineering, or biochemistry).

  • MBA with work experience in the life science industry preferred.


  • 3-5 years successful track record in product management and/or strategic marketing with genetic applications

  • Successful track record in product management and/or strategic marketing with genetic applications.

  • Genotyping and/or Agrigenomics and/or NGS or Microarray product experience is a plus.

  • Owned a product portfolio, including pricing, forecasting and supply/demand responsibility.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

  • Proven product launch and product care experience in life science.

  • Highly analytical - ability to clearly define what our customers care about most in their workflow.

  • Strong understanding of genomic technologies - microarray highly desired.

  • Ability to work within a matrixed organization.

  • Proven ability to question the existing condition and inspire change.

  • Comfortable in ambiguous situations.

  • Ability to travel globally
