VMware Senior Product Manager-Cloud Services Business Unit - Opportunity for working remotely in Boston, Massachusetts

Product Manager

The Cloud Services Business Unit (CSBU) is responsible for delivering a unified multi-cloud experience for our customers via our broad portfolio of SaaS and Subscription services. Our portfolio includes VMware Cloud on AWS, VMware Cloud Services on Hyperscalers, VMware Cloud on Dell EMC and the VMware Cloud Partner Provider program. Our mission is to deliver VMware IaaS and services across VMware managed Clouds, Public Clouds and Edge locations serving three core constituents, our team, our customers and our ecosystem partners.

This role will be a part of the Product Management team for VMware Cloud on Dell EMC.

Product Manager Responsibilities:

For this role as a Product Manager on the VMC on Dell EMC team, you will lead initiatives related to how customers make their journey to the cloud. VMC on Dell EMC is a local cloud solution, delivered to customers as infrastructure as a service. This is a relatively new market with lot of opportunity to impact our customers’ experience. You will need to understand critical customer requirements and prioritize the strategic roadmap for these areas. Specifically:

  • Understand how customers leverage their service to solve use cases and provide outcomes

  • Define the strategy, goals and roadmap to continue to innovate how we deliver the service and drive value to customers

  • Constantly interact with customers and the technical community to validate and socialize these capabilities and the roadmap

  • Understand the current market landscape which requires analytical abilities to collect and report metrics and identify trends, issues, or other important information (qualitative and quantitative)

  • Participate in product planning and working with the development team to prioritize future features and releases

  • Support the go-to-market and activation measurements, ultimately being accountable to decisions made

  • Analyze user personas and requirements to meet the needs of our core customers

At the end of the day, Product Managers are responsible for defining, prioritizing, planning and driving the execution of the vision for their product lines. They possess business insight as well as engineering wherewithal to be able to strategize, drive and bring their product to market. They work extensively with customers while working cross functionally with Product Marketing, Engineering, Sales, Corporate Marketing and Alliance Partners to successfully prioritize features and develop the products that our customers need.

Required Skills

  • 3-5 years of direct work experience as a product manager delivering technology products to market

  • Proficient in SaaS product delivery

  • Demonstrated success working and adapting in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities

Preferred Skills

  • Fulltime MBA degree with a bachelor's degree in CS or similar

  • Experience or desire to develop and analyze markets

  • Strategic planning or analysis capability

  • Excellent written, and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with on-premise infrastructure

  • Experience working or building out cloud products

  • Dynamic speaker, comfortable in front of audiences of all sizes and backgrounds

  • Ability to influence people at all levels across a broad variety of job functions

  • Excellent organizational skills to juggle many tasks without losing sight of what's most important

  • Passion for technology and innovating to improve customer experience
