Job Details

Are you an innovative product manager who thrives in a fast paced collaborative environment and loves working with the best technology team in the world?

How about Marketplaces? Do you know the domain well? Do you get excited when digging into the academics of marketplaces -- like what types of network effects drive behavior or debating if an algorithm is needed over basic search filters? What about the economic dynamics like volume vs price point, is that in your wheel-house?

The Salesforce AppExchange is looking for a rock star Product Management professional to drive the next round of innovations to fuel partner success with our marketplace.

We may already be the world’s largest business application marketplace, but, as the Salesforce Economy continues to grow, we have an awesome opportunity to do more with our unique position worldwide. The rise of sharing and gig economies serve as inspiration for how we can provide even better customer solutions with highly personalized matching and transparency.

This role will specifically focus on the next generation of our Partner Experience for the Salesforce Marketplace, and creating a solid foundation for our partners to build, manage and grow their business with the AppExchange. This is especially important as we extend our ecosystem value proposition around our entire Customer 360 (https://www.salesforce.com/products/) . We have a lot of opportunities to rethink our partners’ experience on the marketplace, a lot of inspirations that are relevant, and a lot that doesn’t make sense for the enterprise apps marketplace world.

What we know is that we have to move quickly. There’s a large opportunity still ahead of us, and we need our Marketplace to be the great facilitator that our customers expect and our partners need.

So, we’re looking for someone who’s excited to figure out what’s next, and then execute. And then repeat! You’ll be expected to operate with a design-led mindset, be strong in researching and defining the problems you’re solving, comfortable in a design-thinking-style workshop environment, and excited about collaborating with UX and engineering to bring it all to life.

Responsibilities

Here's what you'd be doing:

  • Contribute to and drive our AppExchange Partner Experience point of view and roadmap

  • Collaborate with the relevant stakeholders from different parts of the business to define a roadmap, drive alignment and execute

  • Identify & define business problems worth solving at scale, work with our innovation process to design forward-thinking solutions, then determine how we’ll deliver

  • Engage with customers, partners, along with product ambassadors from across Salesforce to prioritize the future of our industry

  • Represent Salesforce as a domain and product expert at customer and partner interactions, industry and corporate events, and through community sites and social media

Job Requirements

First and foremost:

  • Proven marketplace expertise (whether in business or consumer environments)

  • Experience with or demonstrable comprehension of processes, regulations, and experiences both for buyers and sellers.

  • Demonstrable interest in Salesforce technologies

  • Enterprise architecture experience, or software project implementation comprehension

  • Ability to work in a team of other PMs who have dependencies on you and vice versa. Others would leverage much of what you work on with corresponding needs for their functionality.

Everything else that matters:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines or equivalent experience in technical leadership roles

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in technology product management environments or similar

  • Understanding of the broad SaaS and PaaS landscape, product marketing and go-to-market strategies

  • Agile methodology, and API experience

  • MBA a plus, but if you learned how to code instead, we’re all for it

  • A sense of humor, and grace under pressure

For Colorado-based roles: Minimum annual salary of $150,200. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. More details about our company benefits can be found at the following link: https://www.getsalesforcebenefits.com/
