Stantec is looking for a Senior Marketing Specialist to support our Urban Places and Smart Cities practices throughout the US and Canada, on various marketing and communications projects.
Our Urban Places team brings together a variety of expertise and services related to the urban realm to help our clients navigate the shifting urban landscape and create walkable, resilient, livable communities—in cities and suburbs alike. Our Smart Cities team adds a focused approach to how these communities can utilize technology and data to deliver services more efficiently, future-proof assets, and boost transparency—with a people-first approach.
This role is also responsible for working with the Urban Places leadership team to implement content marketing strategies, business plans, public relations plans, and client outreach strategies across the practice and for specific markets, including transit-oriented development, smart cities, suburban retrofit, asset transformation, downtowns, urban mobility, and mixed-use districts. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple concurrent initiatives, and enjoys working with different personality styles and management levels, both in person and across geographies.
This role reports directly to the Marketing and BD Manager, Urban Places.
Your Key Responsibilities
Produce marketing materials such as proposals, statement of qualifications, brochures, and client presentations.
Support leadership with various marketing and business development items, including account management, business planning and implementation, budgeting, industry partnerships, and reporting.
Implement content and digital marketing strategies, such as supporting blog creation, trade publication articles, newsletters, and videos.
Coordinate and provide strategy for national tradeshows/conferences, speaking abstracts, and award submittals.
Facilitate and produce webinars, both internal and external.
Craft internal and external communications.
Maintain and provide updates for sector website pages.
Collaborate with various marketing and technical teams to help promote synergies and address client needs across business lines, sectors, and geographies
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Proficient in the use of Adobe creative apps, such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat
Experience in content marketing platforms and digital marketing strategies
Detail oriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization skills
Demonstrated proficiency with web-based tools and Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong knowledge and understanding of marketing and business development best practices
Ability to work effectively within a group as well as independently motivated
Demonstrated expertise in pursuit management, including for multi-disciplinary large efforts from pre-positioning through interview.
Adaptability and creative thinking in support of establishing and growing an emerging business
Education and Experience
Post-secondary degree in marketing, communications, business, or related area.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a Marketing related position.
AEC industry preferred
