Thermo Fisher Scientific Senior Manager, Strategic Business Intelligence in Boston, Massachusetts
Perform analysis of markets, competitors, products and customers that deliver strategic insights to increase competitive advantage for the entire Pharma Services Group (CDMO). The incumbent provides analysis, often under tight timelines, to improve decision making, drive revenue, and increase profitability. She/he will help internal clients to make sound decisions based on solid analysis of internal and external data and provide insight regarding interpretation of data and trends (explain the 'what' and 'why' of data results). Requires high level of independence, while working with SBI Team to support Strategy, Marketing, Sales and Operations as well as other Business Functions as needed (Corporate Development & Executive Leadership).
Lead point of contact for Drug Product Services ( Oral and Sterile Dosage Forms) providing strategic insights into Market/Competitor/Customers
Integral Team member for annual Strategic Planning Process for (OSD Oral Solid Dose) as well as Group strategy, providing Market Intelligence, competitive dynamics and strategic insights.
Provide in-depth Competitive Intelligence including newsletters and profiles,Trade Show Intelligence and Dashboards.
Independently prepare regular competitive and market updates for presentation to Senior Management - Market modelling experience a plus
Proven communication skills and ability to influence colleagues and customers
Participate in cross-divisional initiatives to support synergies and new business opportunities
Support Corporate Development opportunities including target identification and due diligence.
Analyze market dynamics and trends in the CDMO space, determine implications for Thermo Fisher and present to senior management
Participate in the design of primary intelligence and market research projects applicable to OSD and adjacent business areas.
Prepare site portfolio reviews, including independent forecasts, for high value projects at PSG sites to determine market factors impacting customer manufacturing forecasts
Provide targeting lists for Account Executives based on territory, molecule type, dosage form to increase PSG sales.
Senior Business Managers
Subject Matter Experts
BS in Science or Business, Advanced degree required, MBA strongly preferred
7+ years' experience working in a pharmaceutical/biotech/consulting/CMO firm. Work experience in Competitive Intelligence/Business Intelligence/Analytical discipline preferred
Experience with quantitative Pharmaceutical related databases (IQVIA, EvaluatePharma)
Prior experience with forecasting
Quantitative market modelling experience a plus
Expert skills in Excel and PowerPoint
Strong influencing skills and comfort expressing a point of view.
Team player with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under tight time constraints and within strict confidentiality guidelines.
Excellent oral and written presentation skills suitable for presentations to senior company management
Remote candidates considered
Ability to travel up to 15% of time
