Our Specialty Diagnostics Group offers a wide range of diagnostic test kits, reagents, culture media, instruments and associated products in order to serve customers in healthcare, clinical, pharmaceutical, industrial, and food safety laboratories. Thermo Fisher’s healthcare products are used to increase the speed and accuracy of diagnoses, which improves patient care in a more cost-efficient manner.

In our Clinical Sequencing Division, we collaborate closely with our Pharma Partners to help accelerate access to treatment by ensuring companion diagnostic testing readiness in the relevant markets at launch. Together, we ensure that product design requirements reflect customer and market needs from an analytic performance, end-user and economic perspective.

The Senior Manager, Strategic Alliances -Pharma will help drive the development of our companion diagnostics including feasibility and Clinical Trial Assay programs in conjunction with our pharma/biotech partners by ensuring alignment between stakeholders while anticipating and managing business and legal uncertainties. They will help to guide and manage collaborations with our pharma partners and will work closely with external vendors and CRO partners, as well as internal R&D, quality, regulatory, product management, and business development teams, to support our efforts so that we can deliver on contractual obligations such as timely regulatory submissions.

Remotely based in the United States.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for alliance management across all aspects of product development from Concept to Commercialization and completing with Project Closure according to the partnership agreement including all standard of work.

  • Act as key interface with pharma partners and internal teams in managing the alliance. Responsible for alliance health and overall relationship.

  • Coordinate with project management and core teams to synchronize and manage overall project schedule. Accountable for overall execution and communication of project milestones.

  • Manage project budget; track actual versus plan and resolve issues as they arise.

  • Review team progress against requirements and plans; resolve deviations.

  • Assist Core Team Members in resolving extended team and functional issues.

  • Gain key stakeholders' support and organizational resources. Take ownership of key partner-related issues and work with the appropriate internal teams to resolve them.

How will you get here?

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in appropriate specialty (preference for business, marketing, or life sciences). Advanced degree preferred.

  • Excellent project management skills including Excel and Microsoft Project.

  • Oncology/genomic background is preferred.

  • 7+ years of combined experience in strategic account management, alliance management, project management, product management, business development, or pharma relationship management.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time with cross-site stakeholders.

  • Ability to travel as required.

  • Outstanding organizational, planning, process development, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
