Job Details

The Product Strategy team is looking to kick our innovation and growth engine to an even higher gear. Our team has the outstanding responsibility of helping the executive leadership team, Chief Product Officer, and product leadership teams with plans for the next wave of product bets. We are looking for a Senior Manager of Product Strategy to help build winning strategies with product leadership. The portfolio spans the entire Salesforce product line -- Sales, Service, Marketing, Commerce, Platform and Industries. Reporting to the VP of Product Strategy, the Sr. Manager of Product Strategy will have responsibility for the following:

Support product teams with

  • Strategic analysis and insights into our market opportunities within existing and potential new markets.

  • Propose powerful product strategies to tackle our customer problems in outstanding ways and return disproportionate value to our business.

  • Support our Long Range Planning for products to define investment focus and set the course for long-term revenue growth.

  • Support the executive team and board of directors with insights and summaries of our plans.

  • Serve as Salesforce’s primary point of contact with third-party analyst firms including Gartner & IDC on topics involving Total Addressable Market (TAM) and other market research.

  • Work with our Research and Insights team to conduct qualitative and quantitative research with customers, account execs, partners and sales leadership to understand customer needs, perceived value of new product concepts, competitive alternatives, buying behavior and likelihood to buy.

  • Research competitive products and business strategies to settle how we drive unique value and sustainable market advantages.

  • Build financial models to forecast potential revenue and other success metrics for new businesses.

Requirements

  • 5 + years experience in management consulting or internal product/corporate strategy, (ideally a large enterprise software company).

  • Quick study who can apply lessons from different industries and products to the situation at hand.

  • Market research, both qualitative and quantitative. Experience running projects and conducting customer interviews.

  • Strong ability to form relationships and work collaboratively across Salesforce to get results.

  • Ability and desire to dig into databases and produce insights on current situations, new opportunities, and product performance.

  • Hands-on financial analysis and modeling, comfortable with reporting tools and Excel in all its glory.
