Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Platform Sustainability is accountable for developing and executing strategy to align Autodesk’s technology platform to enabling sustainable outcomes with connected data, automation, and insights. Developing programs and operating models across industry, product, and research teams, this technology leader will uncover the unique ways platform approaches can bring consistency, scalability, and agility to solutions for customer sustainability challenges. This role will also build and oversee internal and external technical ecosystem engagement programs to support the connection, extensibility, and development of cross-industry sustainability solutions. As an expert in the intersection of sustainability and advanced technology, this position will represent the company across and at the convergence of industries to influence best practices and increase the positive impact of digitalization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop & implement strategy and programs to influence the Autodesk platform to enable customer sustainability:

  • Create business plans to influence development of Autodesk’s platform to scale data, automation, and insights for sustainability through connected APIs, services, and experiences

  • Manage direct and cross-functional teams to prototype and develop sustainability platform capabilities

  • Steward adoption of advanced technologies including machine learning and artificial intelligence to streamline and scale sustainability solutions and workflows

  • Develop and lead programs and operating models across industry strategy, solutions, and customer success teams to understand emerging requirements for cross-industry platform

  • Create & lead initiatives to engage internal & external technical ecosystem to connect sustainability capabilities to Autodesk’s platform:

  • Design & manage programs for external partners to connect their solutions and datasets to Autodesk’s platform to scale their impact

  • Oversee engagement opportunities for Autodesk’s technical community to build alignment, understanding, and affinity for sustainability and platform

  • Develop and prototype new platform workflows with customers and partners to demonstrate customer and market viability

  • Shape sustainability best practices through participation in industry groups and events

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strategy ownership with demonstrated ability to develop industry-defining strategies and execution plans, balancing both short-term priorities with long-term vision and executive-level communication with technical and industry-appropriate specialization

  • Experience managing teams in matrixed software development environments

  • Demonstrated leader with experience managing staff, teams, partners, and suppliers with and without authority

  • Strong program manager, with experience building and maintaining large and multi-stakeholder projects, programs, and initiatives

  • Excellent technology and product skills with clear understanding of technology platform approaches and benefits versus traditional products

  • Experience performing and summarizing market research, customer interviews, trend and competitive analyses

  • Excellent written and verbal communicator with experience in communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical and technical audiences alike

  • Demonstrated expertise with issues relating to energy, water, materials, and resilience

  • Experience in architecture, engineering, construction or manufacturing a plus

  • MA/MS in computer science, business administration, or related area or 12 years relevant experience
