Alexion Pharmaceuticals Senior Manager, Internal Communications in Boston, Massachusetts

As a member of the Global Internal Communications team, you will work with cross-functional teammates and colleagues to plan and execute employee communications. This is a role requiring a high-energy professional with exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail. It's our team’s job to help inform and educate our employees about our vision, initiatives and values. The senior manager will guide two-way communication on our digital communications platform, coordinate and follow up with content creators and analyze the success our messaging. The candidate should be both detail-oriented and a strategic thinker. A person with strong social media and writing experience would be an ideal candidate. Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Internal Communications Business Partners and other areas of the business to write/edit/publish communications

  • Keep internal homepage dynamic by adding widgets and rotating featured content

  • Proactively manage editorial

  • Analyze metrics and identify patterns

  • Translate mission, vision and business objectives into stories that interest employees and bring the vision and core values to life

  • Significantly raise the bar on storytelling, framing/positioning, writing and editing and the use of new media to advance the story and increase visibility

  • Make content suggestions based on metrics

  • Monitor communications and engagement across all communication channels

  • Provide training to users on discussion best practices

  • Create and implement content management best practices across communications sites

  • Align the communication teams to a strategic editorial calendar, roadmap and drive measurable outcomes that are coordinated with the global communications plan

  • Cultivate a team culture of trust, engagement and development where ideas are heard, and everyone is included.

  • Work with senior executives and team members with the creativity and skills to activate our leaders to discover and share important and inspiring narratives

  • Find the “yes” in the “no” while implementing a prioritized messaging approach so colleagues understand what’s most important

Minimum Requirements

The successful candidate will be an accomplished communications professional with a minimum of 7 years of experience in communications or a related field. The ideal candidate embodies these attributes and possesses these skills:

  • Excellent writing skills and strong attention to detail. Able to simplify complex topics into relatable narrative

  • Experience working in the biotech/pharma industry, with a thorough understanding of complexities that come with operating in a global pharmaceuticals organization.

  • Able to independently structure and manage workflow and priorities, under tight timelines and with competing priorities
