How will you make an impact?

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and passionate individual to serve as the Senior Digital Marketing Manager leading the Biosciences Division (BID) Email Team. As the Senior Manager, you are responsible for conceiving, designing, and delivering best-in-class email solutions to support campaign execution for BID global marketing. In this role, you will bring together business, technology, and user experience partners to develop the strategy and deliver new capabilities to enhance the customer experience and achieve and program targets.

What will you do?

  • Strategic Leadership and Planning - Leads project discovery, requirements definition, metrics analysis and works with IT and business teams to utilize new capabilities such as dynamic emails and audience-driven marketing.

  • People Management - Coaches and mentors a team of highly motivated digital marketing professionals located in the US and in our Bangalore office.

  • Marketing Automation Technology solutions - Delivers new capabilities to the BID Marketing team for strategic planning, forecasting, and dynamic Marketing Automation emails.

  • Measurement - Defines metrics and reviews dashboards for measurement and tracking of triggered Marketing Automation campaigns and Batch emails. Performs business and financial analysis, monitoring and reporting.

  • Responsible for enhancing, scaling, optimizing and adoption of Marketing Automation technology capabilities for BID.

  • Act as trusted advisor and take a consultative approach to guiding business partners in optimizing use of the email channel.

  • Experience working with Omni-channel marketing campaigns to drive fully integrated customer journeys across multiple audiences highly recommended.

  • Develops strategies to leverage data science to optimize campaign effectiveness and the marketing offers to the customer.

  • Works with cross-functional teams to ensure on time and high-quality delivery of initiatives by balancing business needs versus technical constraints, and escalating issues and risks to drive solutions as necessary.

  • Performs regular report outs to BID and Digital Marketing leadership globally on the performance and health of Batch and Marketing Automation programs. Provides key insights and optimization opportunities for optimization as well as deploying new strategies for their email marketing initiatives.

  • Interacts with peers and Directors; manages by influence; engages with cross-functional teams; evangelist for the email best practices to drive continuous improvement of the channel.

  • Keeps up with the latest trends in digital marketing and has deep curiosity and passion to bring innovative solutions to drive the business forward.


How will you get here?


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science or related major required.

  • Master's degree preferred.


  • Marketer with 5+ years' experience in b2c or b2b email marketing.

  • Experience leading a team of 5 or more team members with a history of working with offshore teamspreferred.

  • Experience developing strategy and achieving goals by translating strategy into projects and leading project execution.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand data sources, data mapping, campaign logic, and campaign performance. Experience leading A/B or MVT (multivariate) testing initiatives for email highly desired.

  • Demonstrated experience planning and managing all aspects of complex email marketing campaigns, including detailed audience segmentation.

  • Exceptional verbal / written communication skills; outstanding negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills.

  • Experience developing and leading email governance operating models highly desirable.

  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to formulate and drive detailed plans and KPIs to report on the health of the email channel.

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional areas (IT, Business Marketing, Sales, eBusiness, Digital Marketing, Data Science, Finance).

  • Ability to build relationships with key individuals necessary for collaboration.

  • Ability to develop and present to senior leadership, communicating the desired message, at the appropriate level, for the right recipient.

  • Able to act in a highly autonomous capacity and work on the most complex problems with corporate visibility.
