  • This position will be based in Boston, MA, and may require up to 10% travel.

    This is what you will do:

    The Alexion IT organization is looking for a Senior Manager, Commercial IT to join their US Commercial IT (Go-to-Market team). The candidate will work closely with the Commercial IT business partners and will help the Commercial IT team organize its KPIs, metrics and operationalize its reporting and analytics. Additionally, the Sr. Manager will be responsible for producing monthly and ad-hoc reports that provide insight into the IT Commercial team's portfolio. The individual must be a self-starter with strong communication, organizational, and influencing skills who will work to become a trusted partner to the business and across IT.

    The Sr. Manager, Commercial IT is a key member of the Commercial IT Team reporting to the Senior Director of IT Commercial & Medical (Go-to-Market Team). This individual will work closely with IT Business Partners around the globe to drive alignment across the Commercial portfolio.

    You will be responsible for:

  • Leads and manages key initiatives and assigned projects and programs, such as IT Annual operating plans (AOPs), executive presentations, dashboard & analytics, and operating efficiencies for Commercial IT.

  • Works with the US Commercial IT Business partners to develop and manage therapeutic specific roadmaps, portfolio(s) KPIs, and performance dashboards, including with our global Commercial, Medical, and Patient Services CRM Systems

  • Partner and collaborate with the other US and Global Commercial IT’s Business partners to understand business demand that will drive solutions to contribute to the success of Alexion’s Rare Disease business unit.

  • Leads and manages the field concierge (help desk) ensuring team development and continuous improvement of services with updated resolutions and communications

  • Manages both Capital and OpEx project funding, including initiating internal requests and purchase orders for suppliers

  • Analyzes new tools/applications that are being considered by the business and IT and be able to present which one is the MVP – minimum viable product.

  • Collaboration with the Enterprise Application team, the Digital & Data teams & Service Delivery Team to ensure successful delivery of projects

  • Perform other function-related activities in addition to the above-mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs

    You will need to have:

  • Minimum 5-10 years of IT experience in functional areas and exposure to business operations managing IT portfolios

  • Project and Program management experience required, development and support of complex projects and solutions

  • 5 plus years experience in CRM and/or experience required

  • Experience working with various analytical tools and reports that support a commercial business (Qlik, Smartsheets, Excel)

  • Experience working in a multi-disciplined, multi-functional matrix organization

  • Experience working in Biotech, Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry

  • Understanding of SDLC guidelines, as well as, corporate compliance and government regulations

  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment.     We would prefer for you to have:

  • Agile experience is a plus

  • Knowledge and or expertise in Market Access and or Patient Services is a plus
