Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Senior Manager, Commercial Excellence. The Senior Manager reports to the Senior Director, Commercial Excellence and will be an important leader in providing CRM, business intelligence and data science tools to help the global commercial team gain efficiency and productivity which ultimately contributes to scalability and revenue growth. Specifically, the Senior Manager is responsible for system/technology roadmap, user training and implementation of all processes from lead, opportunity management, quoting to orders. Additional oversight to include customer master data governance and Practical Process Improvement (PPI) center of excellence.

The Senior Manager will have an exciting opportunity to help lead transformational initiatives. This role will partner with leaders of sales and service, marketing, customer care, the business units, operations and finance. The Senior Manager will lead an organization of 3 employees but expected to increase. This role is based remotely with expectation to travel up to 20% of the time, domestically and globally.

How will you make an impact?

  • The Commercial Excellence Senior Manager plays critical role in supporting the data and process needs of the sales team. This individual tackles much of the heavy lifting in , data science and continuously optimizes processes to remove obstacles for the sales reps and sales managers.

  • By leveraging data analytics and creating robust reporting dashboards, this Senior Manager is instrumental in arming the leadership team with the necessary KPIs to drive impactful business decisions and actions.

What will you do?

  • Working side-by-side with the Senior Director of Commercial Excellence, this role will create concept frameworks and own the tactical implementation of the solution designs

  • Support the data needs of the monthly, quarterly processes (i.e.CRM data reporting, SIOP); continually seek process optimization opportunities

  • Own the creation and management of robust data insight dashboards

  • Act as the dedicated point of contact for consistency and accuracy of CRM data

  • Employ and embrace PPI as a means to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the CAD Global selling organization

  • Work closely with other functional areas within Thermo Fisher Scientific to collaborate, garner support and partner in the execution of initiatives

  • Adhoc production support for users relating to process issues in SFDC. Partner with IT to manage cases to resolution.

  • Other duties as required.

How will you get here?

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required and a minimum of 5 years of sales, marketing or sales operations functions.

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands on experience with software tools including, but not limited to CRM systems (, relational databases and business intelligence software tools (Tableau, Power BI)

  • Experience managing people

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Demonstrated analytical capability and problem-solving skills

  • Methodical in requirements gathering, solution design, development and implementation

  • Comfortable working with large data sets and can synthesize key actions from data mining

  • Understanding of ERP systems

  • Champion for change management

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Self-starter and doer

  • Challenger of status quo

  • Strong financial acumen

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and influence others to achieve results

  • Strong project management skills

  • Experience with administering sales training enablement programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with both direct and distribution selling environments is desired.

  • Understanding of supply chain principles, a plus

  • Prior experience working with data science and AI tools

  • Field Sales background preferred
