A Day in the Life
The person in this role may work remotely within the US or onsite at a US-based Medtronic facility.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Program Manager to lead the implementation of Product DNA with extensive experience in Regulatory & Quality Systems (e.g. PLM – Product Lifecycle Management System), IT Programs and Platforms (including validated systems) and team leadership. This role will report directly to the Sr IT Program Director, SPO, within Medtronic Global IT and is accountable for directing, controlling, and executing strategic roadmap/initiatives within Product DNA program by partnering with both Medtronic internal stakeholders and external IT partners. This senior level position is strategic in nature and will be expected to regularly interact with and influence senior and executive leadership on many topics to drive critical decision-making and successful outcome.
In this role, you will be accountable for overseeing, mobilizing, and directing the program teams and partnering with external IT partner(s) through all phases of the program to achieve KPIs, including on-time, on-budget and within scope and all required program deliverables, This role will hold self and others accountable by enforcing SPO’s governance (fiduciary responsibility amongst the stakeholders), defining accountability mechanisms for delivery excellence and improving transparency by reporting out accurate and timely program status with focus on mitigating risks, resolving issues, and managing change impacts to avoid disruption.

Provides leadership in the development, deployment, and optimization of the Product DNA program, supporting company business processes and technical information systems platforms.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analysis, selection and modification of enterprise PLM Systems, logistics application software, installation of network hardware/software and database management.
Provides direction for the effort required to protect the company's data, tools, and information systems.
Ensures infrastructure architecture standards maximize efficiency and support platform compatibility.
Usually requires subject matter knowledge of user group for practical application of system characteristics.
Coordinates delivery of services to user groups and ensures IT service is uninterrupted.
Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Ensures that the PLM/MCAD solution meets the requirements of the business and aligns with the overall strategy.
Develops and maintains project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
Provides oversight and direction to the project team, so that they are on track to meet their goals and objectives.
Ensures that the project adheres to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies and procedures.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
Communicates project status, risks and issues to executive management and stakeholders on an agreed-upon cadence.
Conducts regular quality reviews, lessons learned of the project to identify areas for continuous improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
Manages project budget and ensures that the project stays within budget constraints.
Provides leadership and guidance to the project team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Delivers program KPIs by ensuring program delivery alignment with strategic enterprise objectives.
Implements and ensures adherence to best practices for portfolio, program and project management.
PROGRAM GOVERNANCE AND EXECUTION
Provides guidance and orientation to ensure Product DNA program alignment to Global IT and business strategies, objectives, and priorities.
Responds to organizational changes by modifying or creating new processes to ensure strategic alignment and prioritization.
Engages closely with business, internal IT partners and external partners to analyze program planning for strategic alignment, value, and complexity.
Monitors KPIs to ensure successful benefits realization targets and performs root cause analysis/course correction when KPIs are not being met.
Reviews the program planning and progress results with senior and executive IT and business leaders and facilitates trade-off decision-making that considers investment, resourcing, risk, and value.
Manages and oversees the program quality stage gates and execution results with key program leadership team.
Provides guidance and oversight to the program team in ensuring adoption and compliance of relevant procedures, processes, and best practices. Eg, MSCM (Medtronic System Compliance Methodology).
Assesses and oversees all resource planning efforts to maximize utilization.

Optimizes best practices, procedures, policies, templates, tools, and identify ways to drive efficiency, reduce costs and add value.
Assures adherence to Global Portfolio Operations processes and Medtronic Delivery Framework (MDF).
Supports the integration and adherence to Medtronic’s quality system procedures, MSCM (Medtronic System Compliance Methodology), to ensure compliance with system validation requirements.
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
Builds trust and rapport, as the primary principal spokesperson with key senior stakeholders and facilitate executive level discussions.
Initiates, develops, and establishes long term strategic relationships and alliances with key organization stakeholders.
Works closely with all stakeholders to understand the business point-of-view, identify existing processes, customers, and other relevant stakeholders to negotiate and gain cooperation on divergent objectives.
Leads briefings and clearly communicates Strategic Program Office’s imperatives and processes to all stakeholders. Continuously improves stakeholder satisfaction for the Strategic Program Office services.
Routinely socializes strategic program status, at-risk initiatives with executive leadership and escalates for resolution.

This role may require up to 25% travel, based on program requirements
MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree

Exceptional analytical, planning, organization, and time management skills to execute strategic plans and budgets.
Proficient and practical knowledge of Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) methodologies/tools.
Proven experience in change management, risk management and embedding Project Management disciplines and governance in an organization.
Proven track record of successfully leading and managing matrixed team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions.
Excellent decision-making skills - ability to negotiate and balance decisions and priorities across needs of several functional departments - makes timely decisions in the face of risk and uncertainty.
Demonstrated ability to drive changes, foster innovation, and adapt to evolving business needs and technologies.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex and “technical speak” into business terminology and collaborate across matrixed team.
Strong situational leadership and people management skills with strong emotional intelligence.

Ability to develop strategy, ensuring links to the IT and business strategies and objectives.
Experience working with Agile, Waterfall & Hybrid methodologies, with a focus on delivering software effectively.
Understanding of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies and procedures.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$150,400.00 - $225,600.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
