Job Description:

As a Senior Designer on the VMware Tanzu Brand team, you’ll play an essential role in how the brand is expressed across our digital and physical properties. You’ll bring to life the website with modern, eye-catching UI/UX and have direct effect on attracting and retaining our audiences through the creation of highly engaging, functional websites. You’ll work in close collaboration with Brand and Marketing stakeholders and partner directly with the Brand Development team.

Additionally, you’ll be responsible for hands-on conception and production execution of branded design solutions for internal and external programs, campaigns, events, advertisements, and social media. You have an innovative mindset and create high-quality, effective, and relevant design solutions.

As a senior member of a creative team, your role will be to mentor and guide other designers by providing feedback and constructive criticism and encouragement when applicable.

This role has the potential for company-wide impact as we support VMware’s vision to expand to include more developer affinity and application relevance.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Defining, implementing, and expanding on our creative vision in collaboration with the Design Director and Design team

  • Working closely with stakeholders to understand their goals and requirements for projects, and guiding them on how best to apply the brand through visual design

  • Wireframing, designing, and implementing new (and existing templated) web pages across all web properties in close collaboration with the Development team

  • Creating net new graphics and illustrations for various digital and physical properties in alignment with the brand guidelines

  • Providing design leadership and mentorship for the rest of the designers on the team

  • Staying current with the latest design and technology trends across web, desktop, and mobile platforms, and adopting modern techniques as appropriate

Required Skills:

  • A deep understanding of front-end web and responsive design

  • An online portfolio demonstrating experience creating compelling end-to-end brand experiences across all touchpoints

  • Expert-level understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite

  • Experience in Sketch, Figma, or similar design tools

  • Illustration, animation, and motion graphics design experience

  • Effective, empathetic communicator with team members, stakeholders, and leadership

  • A passion for creative ideation and problem-solving

  • Able to both follow brand guidelines and generate completely new creative concepts

  • Strong verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable working on a cross-functional, remote team, and participating in activities like brainstorming, providing, and receiving feedback, and conducting research

  • Familiarity with agile design practices
