Senior Director, WW Partner & Commercial GTM
The Senior Director, WW Partner & Commercial GTM has global accountability for the design, build, execution and measurement of go-to-market growth strategies and initiatives across various VMware Partner Routes-To-Market and VMW WW Commercial.
This is strategy and execution focused position. The ideal candidate is a talented business leader with an exceptional track record of driving growth through the development and execution of a GTM strategy that delivers growth through a complex partner ecosystem and mid-market/small business customer segments. The role requires experience working with sales, a deep understanding of the field and partner organizations, confirmed portfolio/program management track record, and outstanding performance in a matrixed environment. The successful candidate will have towering strengths in influencing skills across all levels of leadership, including C-level.
Key Role Responsibilities
Be the conduit to consult with the analyst community and other key market-in sources to digest, aggregate & provide thought leadership around market-in and industry-specific mature and emerging patterns that impact VMWs Partner and /or Commercial growth strategies
Identify VMware growth opportunities, develop and land WPCO GTM strategies and plans aligned with business growth initiatives xRTM
Design, build and scale a repeatable and measurable GTM process framework applying the Agile methodology
Influence and drive cross functional alignment with executive leadership within VMware, resulting in joint accountability and successful execution of GTM plans
Lead direct and matrixed stakeholder teams to successfully execute growth initiatives across the customer & Partner life cycle resulting in ARR growth
Lead & align GTM team members to key initiatives and stakeholders to ensure design, build and execution of GTM plans are consistent and successfully delivering upon defined growth objectives
Simplify the complex; author, package and deliver WPCO strategy memos and progress updates to various level of the VMWare organization that is consumable, easy to understand, and moves the reader to action
Lead WPCO bi/annual and long-range business planning and socialization processes, representing key organizational requirements and aligning with key stakeholders to ensure WPCO’s growth objectives are understood and supported across the company
Proven 15+ years’ experience in GTM strategy, planning and execution in partner sales/sales strategy/sales planning/sales operations leadership role.
Project and Program Management Skills: Experience in strategizing, estimation, planning, design, and implementation of Sales/Partner transformation efforts at software companies. Effective in influencing and making high quality decisions and taking decisive action
Stakeholder Management: Strong experience driving Sales transformation initiatives that involved working with Senior Sales Leaders (at VP/SVP/EVP level) to influence, drive alignment and successfully execute.
Process Improvement Skills: Ability to analyze poorly defined areas and processes within a cross-functional organization. Effective in implementing new and improved processes
Business Leadership Skills: Strong, team-oriented leadership skills. Able to frame and confront issues and make tough decisions. Self-directed with strong initiative
Communication Skills: Exceptionally strong communicator equally adept at communications strategy and execution, with the ability to craft a full range of clear, high-impact communications. Ability to communicate in an open and authentic manner in all situations
Influencing Skills: The successful candidate will have towering strengths in influencing skills across all levels of leadership, including C-suite. Able to creatively drive consensus.
Interpersonal Skills Able to establish and build close working relationships. Strong personal credibility and counseling skills. Team-oriented planner and decision-maker.
Due to the Biden Administration issuing an Executive Order (EO) that effectively mandates COVID-19 vaccination for all U.S. based employees of federal contractors and subcontractors, all U.S. based VMware employees will be required to have their final vaccination dose (e.g., second dose of Pfizer or Moderna, or single dose of J&J) by January 4, 2022.
