Alexion Pharmaceuticals Senior Director, US Marketing, NF1 PN in Boston, Massachusetts

This is what you will do:

The Senior Director, US Marketing is the leader of the commercial NF1 PN brand team and will play a critical role in developing and driving strategy and tactics for HCP and patient engagement. This individual will support the commercialization efforts for Alexion brand product, a MEK 1/2 inhibitor, approved by the FDA in April 2020, for the treatment of plexiform neurofibromas associated with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1), a rare, incurable genetic condition. This individual will have three direct reports and will report to the Executive Director NF1 PN Marketing and TLL.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading the development and executing strategic marketing plans in US, implementing key marketing initiatives such as disease state education, promotional messaging, non-personal promotion, patient education as well tactics in support of the patient diagnostic strategy and reimbursement support

  • Leading and developing a high-performing team of marketers

  • Developing deep customer insights through market research, advisory boards and ongoing KOL Engagements to inform marketing strategy and tactics

  • Tracking and monitoring business performance indicators

  • Leading definition of customer segments using data, transforming analytics into customer insights

  • Partnering with U.S. Sales leadership to implement commercial tactics and monitor their effectiveness

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with other functional areas and internal strategic partners (i.e., Sales, TLLs, Training, Patient Services, Promotional Review Committee, Medical, Regulatory, Clinical, Legal, Compliance, etc.)

  • Managing marketing budgets and resources

  • Working with the highest degree of professionalism and in accordance with the company‚Äôs code of Ethics and Business Conduct

    You will need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or business field

  • 15+ years of professional experience; prefer marketing, sales, agency, or health care experience

  • Significant commercial experiences, with demonstrated success in marketing leadership positions is crucial

  • Prior experience leading teams

  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to collaborate in a matrix environment

  • Track record that demonstrates the ability to build high performing teams and support individuals in their professional development

  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects across functional areas, and work independently when appropriate, in teams and as a sub-team lead

  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; problem solve; engage in complex and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours

    We would prefer for you to have:

  • Advanced degree (MS, PhD, or MBA)

  • Strong scientific orientation and background

  • Rare disease/high-value biologics experience
