Sr Director, Product Management, Medical Network Payer Solutions

Position Overview

Product management focused professional with a proven track record leading and growing established revenue streams, successful product launch activities, leadership in team building, and product delivery within tight deadlines. Proven ability in developing and enhancing partnerships among clients, business and technical personnel. Strong problem-solving capabilities, familiarity with heath care payer processes and demonstrated innovative thinking and strong communication skills. This role will lead and drive all payer product lines, including interoperability , transparency, Payer Data Services, Payer Connectivity Services, and other core Medical Network payer products.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Ability to envision and deliver focused market product strategies, set development priorities (road map), and work with development and external product partners to create and maintain product functionality, negotiate contracts and working with legal department to establish regulatory approaches

  • Act as product solution and strategy leader while using existing business knowledge experts to guide product strategy, delivery, and decision-making processes.

  • P&L input / responsibility and the core competence to understand the impact decisions have on the operational and financial metrics of the business

  • Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures

  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities as well as potential acquisition

  • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples

  • Determines customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information

  • Appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes

  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products

  • Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders

  • Is considered a subject matter expert within Change Healthcare and may be involved in cross-functional work streams regarding initiatives relating to Product Management; specific focus on products serving payer customers

  • Must be able to manage the most complex solution line(s) that may include products across other business units:

  • Drives best practices, synergies and strategies/strategic initiatives across assigned product(s)/solution line(s)

  • Ability to communicate effectively with external clients up to the C-suite which may include making presentations to customers and at industry forums as a subject matter expert:

  • Active in voice of the Customer programs and 3rd party relationships

  • Ensures customer success by helping to drive customer advisory groups and accountable for agency ratings (KLAS, Gartner)

  • Coordination/collaboration across the business unit to drive holistic solution (services, support) with proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority:

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies

    What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • 8+ years of product management experience (Healthcare Technology or Healthcare Data background)

  • 5+ years of leadership experience to include 3+ years of P&L Management experience

  • Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree; Highly prefer applicants with MBA

    What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Experience with Healthcare Industry stakeholder, payers, and providers with Healthcare IT

  • Working knowledge of commercial health insurance plans, benefits design and performance measures

  • Experience leading new product development, launch, and support.

  • Experience with Product Market Analysis (experience with identifying customer needs, pain points, and requirements and translating that data into an effective product solution)

  • Experience with EDI, transaction processing and clearinghouse operations

  • Experience with presenting to large audiences (20 or more individuals to include Customers and Senior Level Executives)
