Senior Director, OmnichannelSolutions Development

Reporting to the Vice President of

Software Development, this Senior Director will lead development teams and

products across multiple offices and countries, providing technical leadership

and direction to Oracle’s Retail Omnichannel portfolio to evolve and mature these

SaaS offerings.

Oracle Retail Omnichannel cloud

services, including Order Management, Point-of-Sale, Inventory Operations,

Customer Engagement and Loss Prevention offer industry leading solutions for

the top retail brands around the globe that operate at a great scale in highly

available environments.

best in class native Cloud SaaS applications that are highly scalable on a

global level.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple, geographically distributed developmentteams to successfully execute projects defined by strategy counterpartsthrough the software development lifecycle

  • Provide thought leadership to drive innovation anddirection to a product development organization with key objectives toaccelerate the SaaS maturity for service offerings and deliver top notchSaaS services with scale to our customers

  • Evangelize an overall technical architecture vision forthe products and services both internally and externally

  • Maintain architectural governance over systems anddevelopment plans, as well as lead the evaluation and selection oftechnologies and architectural patterns

  • Foster a culture of innovation to motivate teams forhigh productivity and positive outcomes

  • Communicate across various levels of management andlines of business to ensure alignment on strategy execution

  • Engage, inform and influence business leaders,including designing and building executive level presentations, dashboardsand reports

  • Ensure all development deliverables and processesadhere to company, division and department policies, compliance mandatesand security protocols as well as legal and regulatory requirements

  • Interact with customers directly as necessary to assistin problem resolution of escalated production issues

Qualifications / Requirements :

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science, InformationTechnology, or equivalent technical field

  • 8 years managing people and teams in a productdevelopment or related capacity

  • 5 years of experience developing and delivering largescale, highly available SaaS solutions.

  • Extensive experience with designing, architecting, anddeveloping:

  • Micro-services

  • Data intensive platforms

  • Transactional systems

  • Fault tolerant, highly scalable and available systems

  • Multi-tenant systems

  • Experience with modern development processes andtesting techniques such as agile, continuous delivery and continuousintegration

  • A background in software development and experience inconfiguration management like Chef, and other DevOps tools

  • Experience with container technologies Docker,OpenShift or Kubernetes.

  • Strong knowledge and experience working with Java, RESTServices, Angular/Bootstrap/jQuery, PL SQL and Oracle RDBMS or comparabledatabase platforms

  • Firm understanding of security concepts and bestpractices

  • Familiarity with Oracle core cloud technologies is aplus

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a Senior Director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to current and future design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision improvements to the architecture.

Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers Interacts internally and externally with executive management involving negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
