This Senior Director, Enterprise Communications will be responsible for:

  • Reporting to the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer to serve as a member of the Marketing and Communications Department’s senior management team.

  • Developing Boston Children’s media relations, internal and executive communications, and social media strategy.

  • Partnering with the Chief, to develop and execute a world-class communications plan and lead activities that promote, enhance, and protect the organization’s brand, its people, patients and their families.

  • Day-to-day, leading social media/media relations, story development, public affairs, community engagement, enterprise crisis/issue and management strategy and planning.

  • Additionally, supporting and upholding the organization’s mission of to provide the highest quality health care; to be a leading source of research and discovery; to educate the next generation of leaders in child health and to enhance the health and well-being of the children and families in our local community.

  • Building relationships with the media and partnering with organizations to advance the organization’s position with key audiences and to drive broader awareness and support for the organization.

  • Overseeing the activities of media relations, social media, and internal communications function including staff development, budgeting, planning, audience and channel targeting, press releases and media kits, Q&As, bios, etc. Determining and overseeing work with any external agency based on defined needs.

To qualify you must have:

  • The level of knowledge acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications or a related field and at least ten years of experience with public relations, public affairs and communications, preferably in health care.

  • Demonstrated experience as a proven strategic communications leader with a background including internal/external communications, executive communications, crisis/issues management, social media, and public affairs.

  • The ability to be well-versed with developing long-term strategic communications plans resulting in maximum impact and to quickly develop an understanding of the healthcare space and its issues.
