We are seeking a Senior Director, Business Process Strategy to join American Tower’s Global Business Services (GBS) organization. The Global Business Services team is responsible for developing and managing business service centers to execute accounting and transactional activities resulting in efficiency, quality and enhanced strategic decision support. The Senior Director, Business Process Strategy is a key leader in delivering Global Business Services (“GBS”) and overseeing the implementation, standardization, and optimization of core finance and business processes to serve the Company’s current and future needs. Working collaboratively with GBS, leadership, and the Company’s market organizations, you will focus on defining both the overall strategy for all finance processes related to GBS and the global roadmap to achieve that strategy. As a Senior Director, Business Process Strategy you will partner with stakeholders at the most senior levelsto understand business requirements and translate them into strategies and plans, build consensus, and then work with the business and the GBS organization to execute to agreed timelines.

What You Can Offer Us

  • Drive the development of a comprehensive Service Framework strategy that will define how GBS (a) interacts with its customer base; (b) addresses business needs for new services and/or changes to existing services; and (c) works with the GBS Center leads to define, monitor, and report on service and performance metrics.

  • Function as a key member of the GBS leadership team responsible for creating and executing the overall GBS global vision Develop, implement, and manage service level agreements and key performance indicators that will govern GBS delivery and objectives to meet and exceed critical stakeholders’ expectations.

  • Manage significant interaction and relationships with senior leaders within and outside of finance across all markets to ensure a balance between business units’ and markets’ needs with the requirement to support and drive scalable business processes.

  • Establishing and leading forums to ensure that key stakeholders are fully engaged in the development of strategies/priorities and that the key constituencies essential to the success of these strategies / priorities are aligned

  • Gain consensus with senior stakeholders from corporate and market finance as well as business partners to clearly articulate:

  • Future state visions for each business process;

  • An agreed upon road map to reach the future-state business optimization and standardization goals; and

  • A balance of business and market requirements with the need to build a scalable and effective platform for future business growth.

  • Support the development of GBS through development of implementation strategies to move new markets / processes into GBS, and / or expand the service offering

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and refinement of tools and methods to capture and leverage process mapping / analysis as it relates to the core finance and business processes under GBS management

  • Implement and manage global demand and issue management processes for GBS.

  • Develop, implement, and facilitate a quality audit strategy in adherence with governance rules, policies, and defined business processes that enhances quality and efficiency; communicate the results and provide input into process changes and process efficiencies.

  • Supervise and direct a team of senior staff responsible for developing current and future delivery strategies for all in-scope GBS processes, including but not limited to the following broad process areas/cycles: Fixed Assets, Ground Lease to Pay, Tenant Lease to Cash, Purchase to Pay, and Technical Transactional Accounting areas.

  • In partnership with the GBS delivery organization, ensure that finance processes are performed in accordance with intended design and specified service levels and adhere to relevant Company policies and guidelines.

  • Manage a team of operational project management resources responsible for instilling sound performance, demand, and issue management processes considering inputs and feedback from market finance and business leaders globally in order to optimize processes and services levels by GBS.

  • Network and participate with thought leaders within and outside the industry to further process excellence within GBS.

  • As a Senior Director, Business Process Strategy you are responsible for the recruitment, performance management and career development of team members. You’ll also be expected to cultivate a collaborative team dynamic that enables us to meet our business objectives.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • MBA or Master of Accountancy strongly preferred.

  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in a high-volume, service or operations environment required.

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience leading teams required.

  • Advanced understanding of business process design or experience in a shared services environment preferred.

  • Telecommunications industry experience preferred.

  • Deep knowledge of finance processes from both a design and operational perspective.

  • While performing the role you will need to lift up to 25lbs.

  • Approximately 25% travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities

  • Strong organization, planning, and project management skills; ability to prioritize tasks for self and team to meet requirements and deadlines.

  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.

  • Strong leadership skills; ability to drive and motivate team to achieve results.
