As a Business Manager for Employee Experience , you will have the opportunity to be at the center of and influence our industry’s Digital Transformation. Employee Experience (EE) is looking for a proactive and detailed-oriented Business Manager and thought leader to provide the foundational team support services that enable a team’s success – financial and workforce planning, risk and compliance management, RoB planning, business operations functions and people & culture program involvement. You will be a strong collaborator, a passionate individual who works successfully in a highly matrixed organization (1500+ and growing). The role will exercise and develop your general management skills, provide opportunity to interface both with core EE teams developing and executing on the employee experience vision for the company, as well as several partner teams providing foundational support (Finance, Procurement, Risk & Compliance, Workforce & Supplier Strategy, Global Talent Acquisition, Recruiting). You’ll participate in challenging, fast paced execution activities and will contribute big-picture thinking and strategic decision-making. Your ability to drive clarity, alignment and accountability throughout the organization will be critical to our ongoing success.
Develop and drive the organizational and business ROB for at least one portfolio within the Employee Experience space, while looking for opportunities to build upon and align to existing RoBs at the Digital, C+AI and Microsoft level.
Drive cross-EE initiatives, financial planning, budget and forecast activities to manage and drive efficiencies.
Develop and maintain a detailed and geo-diverse workforce strategy for at least one EE portfolio and support leaders in execution of the tactical plan needed to achieve that strategy.
Contribute to process development and refinement for headcount forecasting and ramp and partners with Global Talent Acquisition and Recruiting to translate hiring strategies into a landed workforce of diverse talent.
Partner with other Business Managers and v-teams across EE and Microsoft Digital on multiple cross-division workstreams (e.g. Digital or C+AI workforce planning, people & culture, business health, event planning, etc.).
Serve as a proxy for Business Management leader, as needed, to provide scale across EE LT in cross organizational initiatives.
Orchestrate and facilitate group events including town-halls, All Hands, staff meetings, and LT offsites for supported EE portfolio.
Develop an end-to-end understanding of the EE book of work and supported domains in order effectively manage priorities for at least one portfolio within EE, including helping to unblock challenges and mitigate risks
Drive team health initiatives, including understanding the pulse of the team and providing that input the EE listening system mechanisms and supporting the assigned portfolio team(s) in timely use of their discretionary spend categories
5-7 years’ experience as a Business Manager, Program Manager, Communications Manager, Financial or Business Planning role within a technology setting
BA or BS degree or equivalent work experience
Strong financial acumen with experience running a financial budget or forecast cycle
Strategic planning, portfolio management, and execution skills - semester planning experience a plus
Workforce Planning Skills
Program/Project Management experience with the ability to deal with ambiguity associated with working in a fast paced and changing environment.
Large and / or virtual event planning experience
Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem resolution, and decision-making skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Manage confidentiality with the ability to work independently
Ability to work effectively across the organization, from executives to individual contributors and with internal and external partners.
