Thermo Fisher Scientific Senior Business Development Executive in Boston, Massachusetts

Our Senior Business Development Executive (BDE) focuses on representing and expanding our Softgel Development and Manufacturing Technologies Services business at Patheon, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific.

This is a multi-faceted role within our organization and is directly responsible to drive sales revenue growth through the development and implementation of strategies to generate sales from new accounts in the assigned territory of the Americas.

The Senior BDE builds an internal and external network that enables client success and identifies new target clients, follows through on leads from a variety of sources. The Senior BDE focuses on winning new projects for Patheon's industry leading Rx and OTC Softgel Development and Commercial manufacturing services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities by identifying Rx new molecule, Rx generic, OTC and private label softgel opportunities with new and existing clients in your given territory through appointment based strategic selling.

  • Convey our softgel capabilities to increase awareness of our offerings and key differentiators from our competition. Share our value proposition, including opportunities for strategic bundling of our services.

  • Leverage your personal network, interact with other Thermo Fisher Scientific teams and follow up on incoming leads. Attends tradeshows/ conferences/ seminars to increase awareness of our broader capabilities and as a source of lead generation.

  • Enable winning quotations and play a key role in contract negotiation. Manage, updates, maintains, and records all relevant activities in the SFDC database, and shares information and background on prospective clients within the territory to our stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a related field such as microbiology, cellular biology, chemical engineering, and/or chemistry.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience and exceptional results selling related finished dosage services within the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Established contacts in major and growing pharmaceutical organizations.

  • Professional presentation skills and ability to network within senior management ranks.

  • Preferred home office location is the Boston, North Jersey, or Southern California areas near a major airport with 50% expected travel.
