Join our Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) team and you will directly support and promote our brand and reputation. Through internal communications, public relations and corporate communications, you’ll provide a wide range of marketing and communications services to internal and external audiences. These include current and future clients, our current and future employees, alumni, regulators, the media and the communities within which we operate.

The opportunity

As a Marketing Manager within the Brand, Marketing and Communication function of EY’s Sector team, you will play a key role to strategically position EY’s distinctive brand () throughout the Technology, Media & Entertainment, Telecommunications industry. Specifically, you will be part of a team that helps raise awareness of the firm’s experience in solving complex issues in the sector. This role will have US-wide scope and will be expected to collaborate closely with our global industry and service line centers. West geographical location preferred: Portland, Seattle, Austin, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City.

Your key responsibilities

You will be expected to work closely with the practice and our business development professionals to play a crucial role to meet go-to-market objectives and achieve revenue goals by assisting in the creation, implementation and evaluation of a wide range of marketing activities. You will be responsible for the development and distribution of thought leadership and media relations, event development and management, and the use of digital and social media marketing. You’ll be expected to work as part of a team that collaborates with the sector, practice, industry and other firm leaders to develop market-facing initiatives that help drive EY’s overall strategy around key business issues our clients face.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Ability to collaborate with leadership to identify our buyers’ needs and wants, then assist in the development of corresponding marketing and communications campaigns and initiatives aligned to these issues

  • Collaborate with Global Sector Marketing to inform and activate global campaigns

  • Adept at assisting marketing lead with development of the annual marketing strategy and implementation of campaigns, as well as help devise and manage annual marketing budget

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent marketing initiatives

  • Strength in working independently to resolve challenges while maintaining an active dialogue with leaders and stakeholders

  • Collaborate with other Brand and Marketing: team with the right internal and external resources (i.e. Communications internal and PR/social; Service Line; Agencies) to develop and deliver campaigns

  • Ability to track the effectiveness of overall marketing campaigns and individual initiatives, providing measurement reports and status updates

  • Adept at creating thought leadership and marketing collateral, working closely with subject matter experts and manage the distribution of same, externally and internally, utilizing multiple formats and channels as appropriate

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Minimum of 7-8 plus years of marketing and communications experience, with Technology, Media & Entertainment or Telecommunications industries and/or professional services experience preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a marketing or communications major or equivalent experience, MBA is a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including presentations) as well as listening and interpretation skills including the talent to translate complex technical concepts into compelling marketing messages

  • Proven track record of success in a large, global and highly-matrixed enterprise

  • A solid understanding of the go-to-market and sales processes in a complex organization

  • Ability to work independently, as well as in virtual teams

  • Strong project management skills and proficiency at effectively managing multiple complex and time sensitive projects

  • Proven talent at building relationships and influencing without authority to produce results and outcomes

  • Ability to track the effectiveness of overall marketing campaigns and individual initiatives, providing measurement reports and status updates

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Demonstrated ability to interface with senior management and team across groups of diverse stakeholders

  • As a portion of this role involves creating time sensitive material for clients (internal and external) and programs in a fast-paced environment, efficient time management and prioritization skills are essential

  • Responsibility to adhere to internal reporting requirements and risk management protocols

  • Adept at working independently as well as within virtual teams

  • Strong leadership skills to coach and develop junior level team members

  • Ability to proactively share marketing insights and market knowledge
