AECOM Regional Municipal Market Sector Lead - Northeast Water in Boston, Massachusetts

Job Summary

AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a dynamic, talented Regional Market Sector Leader for the Northeast Region for immediate employment to be based out of New England. The appropriate qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career managing clients in the water/wastewater sector, including federal, regional, state, and municipal clients. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within an established and successful group that offers a diverse range of technical challenges and career development opportunities.

Responsibilities of the position includes, but not limited to:

  • Communicate across all aspects of the Water Business Line as directed by the Regional Business Line Lead (RBLL) and Director of Operations (DOO) to look at various market trends, upcoming permit cycles, consent orders, funding sources, regulations, and capital improvement programs to identify potential areas and clients worth further investigation.

  • Lead efforts on Client Account Manager (CAM) KPIs, Go-No Go Decisions, conference sponsorships and attendance, marketing strategies, strategic planning and resource planning for capture management.

  • In conjunction with the RBLL, conduct periodic deep dives of various markets and clients.

  • Work with the Team to leverage resources and coordination between the legacy North East Region (NER) and South East Region (SER) as well as New York Metro Region.

  • Participate in regular strategy sessions with the RBLL, Municipal Market Sector Leads (MMSLs), and other members of the Growth Team

  • Facilitate discussions with the RBLL on identifying aspirational and/or Phased programs.

  • Work with Federal lead for potential domestic Federal opportunities in Water market

  • Drive accurate Salesforce reporting by interacting directly with the MMSLs and CAMS.

  • Lead periodic discussions/interactions with National Market Sector Leads (MSLs).

  • Obtain a general understanding of competitors strengths and weaknesses.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related degree

  • 8+ years of related experience

  • Proven track record in client services management in the water/wastewater/water resources industry

  • Background specific to client/consultant relations experience

  • Demonstrated experience in leading business development activities, pursuing new clients/projects, and serving as client account manager

  • Proven leader with an interest in developing and mentoring team members

  • Willingness to travel frequently within AECOM's Northeast Region

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in the water/wastewater/water resources industry

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Participation in water community activities, to include Water Environment Federation and American Water Works Association

  • Deep knowledge of water and wastewater treatment, pumping stations, collection and distribution systems.
