Work you'll do

As a Pursuit Manager supporting the Deloitte Risk and Financial Advisory business, you will lead teams through the pursuit lifecycle from pre-RFP strategy through written proposal and oral presentations, and you will use your skills and experience to:

  • Strategize and execute on new business pursuits by applying targeting/sales principles to identify win themes, create compelling messages, and brainstorm solutions to challenges.

  • Lead discussions with stakeholders to drive decision-making and remove obstacles to ensure business needs are met and support the vision and goals of each pursuit.

  • Utilize strategic and innovative thinking to develop persuasive, compelling, client-centric proposals and presentations that differentiate Deloitte.

  • Manage the pursuit process, from creating the pursuit schedule, tracking progress against plan, and holding participants accountable for their deliverables.

  • Interpret information from research profiles, meetings with proposal team members, client meetings, and an understanding of the business and Deloitte's offerings.

  • Collaborate with other team members, including designers and project managers.

  • Lead the creation of presentation collateral and help teams prepare for in-person, virtual, and hybrid meetings. Become familiar with constantly evolving and emerging tools and technologies to aid in presentation delivery.

  • Contribute to developing Deloitte's pursuit team, including collaborating with other pursuit team members, continuously refining and improving pursuit strategies and deliverables, and acting as a project-by-project liaison between our team and the broader organization.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, humanities, or related disciplines, with advanced degree preferred

  • 6-8 years' relevant experience in business-to-business communications and/or strategic marketing communications directed to Fortune 500 organizations; experience in a professional services environment preferred

  • Excellent and proven communications, writing, editing, leadership, and strategic thinking abilities

  • Experience leading teams in strategic discussions

  • Experience with project management for complex, multi-dimensional projects

  • Excellent relevant writing samples

  • Travel up to 20% (While 20% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Preferred

  • Proposal writing experience with professional services firm or corporate entity is a plus

  • Experience in public speaking and coaching teams to present and deliver content to clients in-person, virtual, and in hybrid settings
