State of Massachusetts Project Outreach and Engagement Co-op Spring 2025 in Boston, Massachusetts
Position Summary: Under the direction of the Office of the Highway Administrator, this co-op will assist the Highway Division’s Public Engagement team in their day-to-day duties, project planning, and data collection and analysis. This role is multi-faceted, and will include project management, facilitating virtual and in person meetings, and social media outreach and management. A successful candidate for this role should be able to prioritize tasks and duties, manage their time successfully, and work with internal and external stakeholders to meet their information and project planning needs. Duties and Responsibilities: * Under the direction of the Office of the Highway Administrator, assists the Highway Division’s Public Engagement team. * Assists with the use of MassDOT’s Public Involvement Management Application (PIMA), including: o Developing project and event specific comment forms o Work with project managers to develop and distribute responses to comments o Conduct analyses to identify gaps in outreach and inform project teams. * Coordinates and helps host virtual meeting producers- assigning them to appropriate projects as needed. * Assists in coordinating among internal and external stakeholders and planning all tasks to facilitate and produce virtual and in-person public meetings and hearings. If needed, provides support to develop and distribute project materials. * Develops polling and surveying tools with project managers to support meeting outcomes and to measure outreach and engagement performance. * Supports use of social media and distribution of non-electronic notices and materials. * Coordinates and supports all meeting preparation sessions. Monitors participation and track performance.
