IBM Product Marketing Leader – Telco and IBM Public Cloud in Boston, Massachusetts

Your Role and Responsibilities

Location: Austin, New York, Raleigh

Do you have experience in Product Marketing for Telecommunications solutions? Or have you worked in or with Telecommunication industry in a customer-facing/architecture/delivery role and are passionate about messaging, solutioning and simplicity? Can you scale your Telco domain knowledge and/or Portfolio/Product Marketing skills to span the scale of IBM’s public cloud? Then, this role would be right for you.

We are seeking a strong senior Product Marketer that cuts across the full IBM public cloud portfolio, part of which will have special emphasis on the Telecommunications domain. You are passionate about digital transformation especially in the Telecommunications industry. You are someone who understands key personas, their challenges, pain points, solutions and articulate complex concepts into simple terms that make sense to Customers, Prospects, Ecosystem partners and Sales. You will be responsible for shaping our messaging and positioning of Hybrid Cloud solutions for IBM’s public cloud, for Telcos and Telco ecosystem. You will work with a variety of stakeholders, including the Telco Industry marketing team, Offering Management aka Product Management, office of CTO, Sales, Services, Campaign, Social, Competitive, Digital and Sales enablement teams to build and amplify IBM’s point of view and drive pipeline and revenue goals.

You must be self-motivated, must have demonstrated excellent leadership in challenging situations, collaboration and proficient business acumen. You will participate with executive management in the development of the worldwide mission and vision for the given business unit. While this is an Individual Contributor role, you are expected to collaborate and influence key stakeholders.

You will a part of the IBM Public Cloud business unit and will be a key stakeholder in driving the future of IBM’s public cloud.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Build messaging for IBM’s public cloud and Telecommunications initiatives, focused on simplicity and business outcomes

  • Drive all activities related to understanding the personas (buyer, influencer, user) of a buying cohort.

  • Lead multi-functional teams in articulating IBM's point of view, marrying the unmet needs of the target segment with a differentiated solution, and describe how solution attributes deliver desired outcomes.

  • Source prioritized stories and use cases and communicate them effectively to the business, identifying the best routes-to-market to serve those needs.

  • Develop, plan, and execute Go-to-Market programs that represent the voice of the customer, advocating a point of view that serves their needs and differentiates our offerings.

  • Lead multiple initiatives across Marketing, Sales, Offering Management/Product Management and be a key voice in cross-functional programs

  • Lead all activities that involve quantifying and segmenting the market opportunity based on patterns of unmet needs, understanding how we compare versus the competition.

  • Manage all activities related to understanding the personas (buyer, influencer, user) of a buying cohort.

  • Guided by general business directives with latitude to define priorities and resources to activate the marketing team members in bringing the point of view to life with meaningful campaigns.

  • Accountable for the results of outcomes, demonstrating leadership throughout all projects.

  • Reviews offering NPS score and win-loss analysis regularly to improve offering experience, anticipating problem areas and methods to solve them.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 10+ years of experience in the Technology industry, across one or more of these key areas: Product Marketing, Customer facing roles like Sales, pre-Sales, deployment, architecting

  • Self-starter, who works with various stakeholders and build solution, without much supervision

  • Demonstrated ability to understand the complex topic of cloud and simplify messaging

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 15+ years of experience in the Technology industry, across one or more of these key areas: Product Marketing, Customer facing roles like Sales, pre-Sales, deployment, architecting

  • Assimilate available data, including Market data and anecdotal information to drive solutions

  • Work well within matrixed organization and Collaborates with multiple stakeholders who may/may not have the same common objectives, and get work done
