About the Product Design Team:

Botkeeper is seeking a Product Designer to join our growing team! As a Product Designer, you will be involved in every aspect of the product development process, from brainstorming the next great product innovation, to adding polishing touches right before launch. You will be expected to utilize your full range of product design skills, including interaction design, visual design, and user research skills, and you will own the experience for a wide area of the Botkeeper product.

You?ll be working closely with a cross-functional team to evolve our external and internal tools & provide a more user-centric experience for our customers to manage their book of business, as well as innovating on new features that provide best in class bookkeeping solutions. You?ll be part of a close-knit Product and Engineering team that plays an important role in shaping the future of Botkeeper.

What you?ll do:

  • Work hand in hand with product managers and developers throughout the discovery, design, and development process

  • Design flows and experiences that are incredibly simple and elegant

  • Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the product and executive teams

  • Conduct user research with our customers and internal users to challenge and validate hypotheses and design decisions in an ongoing development process

  • Interpret and translate qualitative and quantitative data into feature enhancements or new products

  • Facilitate cross functional design sprints

  • Contribute to building and strengthening product design as a discipline within the organization

  • You are eager to collaborate with other designers. You give and solicit feedback in order to continually raise the bar for quality

You must have:

  • 3+ years of product design experience, solving complex problems with thoughtful solutions

  • A strong online portfolio demonstrating your end-to-end process

  • An appetite for experimentation, learning, and iteration with a data-centric approach to testing ideas

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with product management and engineering to develop and implement effective design practices

  • Excellent UX and interaction design skills. Visual design might not be your strongest skill, but you have a good eye and can speak to what needs to be improved in a design. You can effectively and quickly pull together high-fidelity mockups, and can iterate on your visual designs based on feedback.

  • Experience with conducting user research

  • Ability to speak to the problems you?ve solved and how your design solutions led to an impact on the business metrics or user behaviors you were trying to drive

  • Ability to show how you?ve evolved your solutions in response to qualitative and quantitative research

  • Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Invision, Adobe XD, or other design and prototyping tools

  • Excellent visual and verbal communication skills; both in meetings with customers and stakeholders

  • Experience working on both B2B and B2C products
