Oracle Principal Product Manager - HCM Cloud Americas Localizations in Boston, Massachusetts

Job Description

Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

As a Product Manager, you will work closely with product management, business stakeholders, customers, and the development team to drive the development of our Human Resources and Payroll solution for the United States.

You will be involved in all phases of the product lifecycle, from researching business problems and making decisions on daily development tasks to release-related activities. You will also be responsible for juggling long-term product priorities and short-term customer needs and defects.


Your work will include collaborating with technical teams and business stakeholders to maintain and enhance the product.

  • Conduct market research and interact with customers to understand their needs, get product feedback and identify additional market opportunities

  • Understand current and future technology and identify opportunities for its use to benefit customers through discussions with developers

  • Define business requirements, and use cases based on product strategy and research through vision documents and user stories

  • Facilitate roadmap discussions with internal stakeholders and executive teams

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure design and implementation is aligned with business requirements

  • Work with the development team, through agile methodologies, to solve identified business problems and drive development forward

  • Clearly define priorities at a high level as well as story by story


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field with an understanding of business OR Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an understanding of technology

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in a client/customer-facing role such as IT/management consulting, product management, marketing or pre-sales.

  • At least 7 years of Payroll/HCM software and/or domain experience

  • Innovative thinking with a passion for problem-solving

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively as part of a geographically dispersed team

  • Familiarity with common US HCM requirements such as:

  • Compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act

  • Payroll Tax Withholding and Filing at Federal, State, and Local levels

  • End of Year processes for W2 and 1099R

  • Involuntary Deductions such as Child Support

  • Deferred Compensation Plans such as 401k

  • Statutory reporting for employment equity and protected classes
