Description
A new product initiative team in health is seeking a Principal Business Development professional to be a leader within a high-growth team. As a Principal Business Development professional, you will own the development of strategic external partnerships and help define a vision to support an exciting roadmap for a version-one product in the healthcare sector. You are a self-starter who thrives on ambiguity and is comfortable wearing many hats. You create highly valuable partnerships that balance mutual benefit, efficiency, and speed to deliver value to customers. Collaboration is critical to your process. Your work is informed by market insights, research, metrics, and high judgment.
Candidates should have strong customer focus, business acumen, and be skilled at breaking down complex, high-level ideas into actionable partnership opportunities and distinct phases of collaboration. The ability to influence cross-functionally and across the organization, at all levels, will be absolutely critical to success in this role. You will be expected to identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships within the US Healthcare industry that align with our product vision and drive growth in the healthcare market segment.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing successful partnerships in the healthcare industry, a deep understanding of the broader healthcare ecosystem, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships. You should be adept at articulating the value proposition of our products to potential partners and be able to structure win-win agreements that drive mutual success.

Key job responsibilities
Lead within a highly ambiguous and rapidly changing healthcare environment, demonstrating willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in wherever necessary to secure and nurture strategic partnerships.
Utilize market insights, industry research, performance metrics, and high judgment to define partnership strategies, write business proposals, provide industry-specific input, and develop partnership roadmaps for the initiatives you own.
Demonstrate excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills; ability to articulate complex concepts and rationale for partnership decisions clearly and persuasively across different audiences, including senior leadership and potential partners.
Take responsibility for the overall coordination, quality, and productivity of partnership initiatives, serving as the primary point of contact for stakeholders in the partnerships you develop and manage.
Work closely with product teams, legal departments, and business stakeholders to structure and deliver mutually beneficial partnership agreements.
Manage existing partnerships concurrently with identifying and pursuing future partnership opportunities in the healthcare sector.
Exhibit strong attention to detail and end-to-end ownership of partnership lifecycles, from initial outreach to long-term relationship management.
Basic Qualifications
7+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
7+ years of professional or military experience
Bachelor's degree
Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a founder or executive focused on related segments, or as a practice leader or business unit owner
Experience selling to Fortune 1000 or Global 2000 organizations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $158,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $262,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
