Partner Marketing Advisor – Solution (PMA-S) SMB Modern Work & Security (MWS)

The GPSUS (Global Partner Solutions, US) organization is looking for a MWS PMA-S for SMB (Small, and Medium Size Business). We’re seeking a business leader who is passionate about SMB, able to develop and land a partner GTM strategy and plan, and identify new areas of SMB opportunity through partners. The ultimate PMA-S accountability is to drive Microsoft’s ability to succeed with partners in US SMB MWS revenue, new customer acquisition, and market share.

The US GPS organization plays a critical role in Microsoft’s cloud growth and in empowering the digital transformation for customers and partners. The Solutions, Capacity and Enablement (SCE) team is responsible for developing the Solution Area BG alignment, partner capacity planning for the US, and developing/landing partner technical enablement programs.

As the PMA-S for US SMB MWS, you will be part of a significant transformation that will require the continuous creation and landing of innovative GTM strategies and execution of plays with our partners to drive the multi-billion-dollar MWS business. You will focus on acquiring business and competitive insights, the development of a partner-segmentation strategy, defining the solution area priorities, developing the US partner plays for SMB, and collaborating across the GTM team to provide guidance around partner technical skilling plans, marketing plans, investment programs, and breadth communication and engagement strategy.



  1. Lead the US SMB partner GTM planning motion, strategy, and campaign creation to meet/exceed MWS scorecard goals, focusing specifically on scale engines (to and through partners) to accelerate new customer acquisition, new seats sold, and revenue growth with healthy premium SKU mix

  2. Lead GTM MWS plays and partner motions across GPSUS including Build-With, Sell-With, and GTM and influence partner execution for Teams, Microsoft 365 and Modern Works Security Services

  3. Manage the overall rhythm of the business: track success, collect execution insights, remove blockers, implement corrective measures, and be the GPS owner of the SMB MWS Scorecard metrics

  4. Initiate or partner in the development and landing of new partner programs and channel incentives and contests. Drive utilization of programs that are key levers to drive SMB channel activation for Modern Work. Some examples are SureStep as a vehicle to increase reseller reach and NCA, Global and Local Incentives and Investments, etc.

  5. Build strong alignment across MWS Operating Model and SMB partner pods to drive MWS Scorecard

  6. Collaborate across the GPSUS GTM team to provide guidance around partner technical skilling plans, marketing plans, investment and incentive programs, and breadth engagement strategy

  7. Acquire business and competitive insights and drive the insights into action and impact



  • 8+ years of experience in product or channel marketing, or partner channel development, or business development, or alliance management, and/or through partner marketing in the technology industry. Small, Medium Business expertise is preferred.

  • Extensive experience of managing virtual teams across functions and geographies

  • Inclusive and collaborative – driving teamwork and cross-team alignment

  • Strong partner relationship management and solution development skills

  • Strategic, analytical, and data-driven with the ability to turn insights into business impact

  • Understands how to scale marketing efforts across a portfolio of breadth partners by promoting self-serve tools and tracking consumption of the tools

  • Ability to succeed in a quickly changing business environment showing thought leadership in driving partner and market transformation

  • Obsessed and committed to optimal partner and customer satisfaction

  • Strong executive presence including communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort to large and small audiences at all levels

  • Problem solving mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources, conflict resolution, and follow through with partners

  • Bachelor’s degree (Sales, Marketing, Business Operations) or equivalent; MBA desired

  • The salary for this role in the state of Colorado is between $113,900 and $187,700.

  • At Microsoft, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
