This Leadership Gifts Officer I is responsible for:

  • Working independently and as part of the team to secure annual gifts and build the pipeline of future major gift donors to Boston Children’s Hospital.

  • Identifying and qualify new prospects, through phone calls, personal visits, and other meaningful interactions; cultivate, solicit and close gifts between $500 - $10,000; and steward annual leadership donors.

  • Personally managing a portfolio of leadership giving donors/prospects needing sustained cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

  • Managing leadership giving programmatic activities as assigned.

To qualify, you must have:

  • Work requires the knowledge and skills typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of progressive experience in business administration, marketing, nonprofit management, fundraising or equivalent experience.

  • Requires the positioning, writing, and analytical skills to present complex scientific, clinical, research and medical issues that require philanthropic support for the many and various departments/divisions in Children’s Hospital Boston.Work requires strong strategy development leadership skills and execution abilities to persuade and negotiate with peer’s department heads, external organizations and individual prospects around cases for support, gift agreements and relationships with the Trust and the Hospital.Strong presentation and communications skills.

  • Work requires consistent attention to detail, high level of productivity, solution oriented performer who can be responsive to both staff and donor issues.

  • Work requires strong technical skills in generic software programs (Excel, Microsoft) and information systems and the ability to develop proficiency in specific data base management systems
