Boston University NEIDL PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER I in Boston, Massachusetts
This position provides public safety and security services as a Public Safety Officer assigned to the Boston University Medical Campus Department of Public Safety. Primary responsibility is to provide and safe and secure environment at the National Emerging Infectious Disease Laboratory (NEIDL), ensuring consistent and safe delivery of service throughout the medical center involving all members institutions, especially for NEIDL. Adheres to and enforces all policy and procedures set forth by the department and university for the protection of BUMC and the NEIDL staff, students, employees and medical center assets. Responsible for enforcing rules and regulations of the university and all other associated regulatory and oversight agencies. Works under the direction of the Director of Public Safety or his designee. The Public Safety Department is a full-time, professional agency that provides a wide variety of public services, including alarm response, emergency medical assistance investigating reports of suspicious circumstances, and response to criminal matters. This is an exciting department. The National Emerging Infectious Disease Laboratory (NEIDL) is part of a national network of secure facilities studying infectious diseases that are or have the potential to become major public health concerns.
