Wayfair Merchandise Planning Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

Enter our Exclusive Brands initiative, which guides the customer experience through curating products from our 1,000s of suppliers into 80 style + price-driven brands.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">To achieve our mission, we need a highly motivated and organized, operationally-minded and data-oriented team member to help continue to grow Wayfair’s Exclusive Brands (e.g., Greyleigh, Mercury Row) through strategic thought partnership and a desire to quickly get to actionable results. This role will challenge you to derive smart decisions from ambiguous data sets, and actively question the status quo.</span></p>

<p><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">&nbsp;</span></p>

<p><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">Assortment Planning &amp; Monitoring</span></em></p>

<ul>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Create, manage, and update processes to drive SKU selection across Flagship Brands</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Identify top sourcing needs across the portfolio (brands and categories) to support our overall key objectives (e.g., GRS, exclusivity)</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Conduct key analyses to provide insight on assortment trends and needs (e.g., price point, productivity, SKU age)</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Leverage analytics centers-of-excellence (Brand Ops, EB Analytics, Profit Mgmt) as needed</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Identify whitespace opportunities</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Manage progress against overall assortment OKRs</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Break EoY goals down into quarterly objectives; forecast monthly sourcing needs to reach quarterly objectives; track progress&nbsp;</span></li>

<p><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">Workflow Management</span></em></p>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Manage the merchant team workflow, timelines, and deliverables</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Become an advocate for both the merchant team and all cross functional stakeholders, translating priorities into actionable processes that drive results</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Partner with merchandising management layer on priorities, timelines, key objectives</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Systematically gather feedback on processes and iterate/improve</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Serve as single point-of-contact for key cross-functional partners: Brand Ops, Imagery, NARTA, WPP, etc.</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">‘First call’ for all questions/issues; escalate/redirect, as needed</span></li>

</ul>

<p><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">Merchant Enablement</span></em></p>

<ul>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Identify and scope needs for reports and tools to improve merchant efficiency (faster TaT, more time spent on value-add vs. mechanics) and effectiveness (building the best assortments)</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Based on those needs, partner with Brand Ops to build tools and pull data – and thereby generate insights to drive merchant action</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Build/facilitate user training programs; continuously gather feedback and refine</span></li>

<p><strong>What You’ll Need:&nbsp;</strong></p>

<ul>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">5+ years experience in ecommerce, project management or a relevant professional field (management consulting or other professional services a plus); MBA or relevant graduate education a plus</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience managing and coaching diverse skill sets</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Proven track record in taking ownership to deliver results within a fast-paced environment</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Willing to dive deep to obtain a strong understanding of business strategy and financial goals</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Effective verbal and written communicator able to operate clearly in an ambiguous environment</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lean/Project /Program Mgt. certification a strong plus</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Technical background or technical orientation (experience with SQL or other programming language is a plus)</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Extensive knowledge of Excel required</span></li>
