Federal Reserve Bank Media Intern - Supervision, Regulation and Credit in Boston, Massachusetts
Job Summary: Gain valuable, marketable experience applying your video, editing, and other media skills within a prestigious business environment while helping to earn your way through school! This interesting and challenging internship is available on an ongoing basis throughout the year. The primary focus is design and production of employee training and communication “videos” on varied topics. You will meet with sponsors, interview subject matter experts, record events and work with “talent” in partnership with a project manager. Camtasia, Articulate, voiceover recording and/or still photos will be used to enhance or complement videos. In addition, the Media Intern may be asked to evaluate/recommend video equipment or software and assist with special communication-related projects and internal events. This is a highly visible role that includes frequent interaction with staff as well as participating in/presenting at meetings. Assignments will vary based on business needs and skillset of the successful candidate. This internship provides exposure to training methods, business communications and project management. The Media Intern will operate as part of a small team within a large department in a highly professional business environment. There will be opportunities to take advantage of training, events and other interesting activities within the department and the Bank.
Minimum Qualifications and Special Requirements:
• Minimum 6 months experience working within a business environment; this requirement may be satisfied by prior internships, jobs or cooperative work placements. • Video production and editing skills are required. Candidates should have experience with using software such as Adobe Premiere. Experience with Camtasia and Articulate is a plus but not required. • Familiarity with standard office software such MS Word and Excel is important. • Master’s level students or experienced undergraduates in media-related programs strongly preferred. • Requires strong organizational, oral and written communication skills. • Must be comfortable interacting with all levels of staff and able to put people at ease in front of a camera. The ideal work schedule is 20-30 hours over 3-4 days per week throughout the year. There is considerable flexibility in arranging and adjusting the schedule to accommodate academic requirements and breaks.
