Master Technician


The Master Technician is responsible for delivering premier customer service and product repair to Precor's customers and reports to the Regional Field Service Supervisor. The Master Technician exercises considerable independent discretion and judgment to support and service world-class fitness products including cardio, strength, video, and networked systems.

The Master Technician is the face of the Company to our customers. The incumbent provides a high level of customer care and technical troubleshooting to resolve product and customer issues at customer locations. The technician also provides technical assistance to other servicing agents and end-users. The Master Technician can install, troubleshoot, analyze and repair Precor fitness and entertainment equipment while building and maintaining a sound working relationship with customers within a defined territory. The Technician also utilizes a computer dispatch system for timely, detailed, and accurate record keeping.


  • Independently isolate and resolve issues raised by Precor customers.

  • Follow all safety protocols in the process of diagnostics and repairs.

  • Ensure detailed, accurate, and timely documentation of diagnostic steps and repair actions.

  • Manage your own appointment schedule with the customer, following dispatch from corporate office.

  • Directly interface with all levels of customer's organizations on a wide range of product topics.

  • Install new equipment and/or modifications.

  • Update customer records in the CRM system as work is completed.

  • Perform preventive maintenance checks and adjustments.

  • Complete a detailed report for the customer's record and to be included with the service case record.

  • Provide technical support to customers on-site or remotely as needed to resolve issues.

  • Advise or train the customer on proper operation, maintenance of their Precor equipment.

  • Provide detailed reporting on equipment problems in the field.

  • Maintain a prescribed inventory of spare parts.

  • Maintain provided electronic inventory files to ensure accuracy of on-hand inventory.

  • Maintain company-supplied vehicle.


  • Associate degree in Electronics, Technical School Degree as Electronics Technician, or equivalent technical training is required.

  • Minimum of 12 months as a Field Service Technician working with Fitness equipment or products of equivalent or greater complexity.

  • Must have and maintain a current, valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.

  • Ability to maintain customer records including detailed paperwork regarding work completed, issues encountered, and time spent on-site.

  • Ability to learn and follow all safety standards set by the Company and locations where work is completed.

  • Exposure to a CRM system, experience a plus.

  • Comfort with technology, including ability to use at an experienced level programs like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Ability to travel locally daily.

  • Ability to occasionally travel overnight, weekend or holiday.

  • Ability to work around customer's schedules. Will require the flexibility of working hours of both start and end times during a typical work period.

  • Ability to service equipment in public corporate and private fitness centers. Occasionally it will be necessary to service equipment in private residences

  • Ability to perform moderate physical effort in corporate and commercial fitness center environments. Lifting of parts/products is required. Moderate computer use / data entry. Must be able to lift to 70 lbs.
