About the Role

The US Wealth Marketing Strategist will serve as a strategic thought partner for our US Wealth client-facing team as we expand and deepen relationships with financial advisors, wire houses, and global financial institutions in the United States. We’re focused on distributing a range of products with a focus on hedge funds and privates. The candidate will be entrepreneurial and collaborative, leading the strategy and execution of channel marketing to position and promote the firm’s reputation, branding, investment capabilities, and products. This individual will be responsible for creating effective and inspirational marketing plans and activities, overseeing their delivery and execution, and assessing their effectiveness. This position will work in close collaboration with colleagues in sales, relationship management, as well as within our regional and global marketing teams.

The candidate is expected to bring extensive US wealth management and distribution knowledge and experience in working with different investor types, various investment vehicles and strategies, and multiple marketing disciplines. These include brand and product positioning, digital, PR & communications, campaign development, thought leadership, events, and insight development.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and executing forward-thinking marketing strategies that align with our business objectives and position us as a leader in the industry.

  • Leading the development and execution of innovative marketing plans to improve awareness and adoption of our capabilities, and to create meaningful engagement opportunities with clients and prospects.

  • Establishing and monitoring key marketing performance metrics to gain insights and optimize campaign effectiveness.

  • Collaborating with internal and external sources to gather product, channel, and competitor insights with the goal of providing recommendations to drive distribution and market share.

  • Developing and maintaining broad knowledge of competitive offerings, market trends, industry developments, and audience engagement preferences and trends.

  • Creating targeted messaging outreach to support the business and continually build the brand, utilizing a variety of marketing activations across various buyer stages: product marketing, thought leadership, digital, email, social, events, PR, and paid media.

  • Managing budget and internal resources effectively with a focus on activities that will have the greatest impact.

  • Employing a data-driven approach to optimize marketing strategies and communicate progress, lessons learned, and recommendations to internal stakeholders.

  • Working with PR/corporate communications to ensure channel alignment and implementation of messages in a timely and effective manner.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in intermediary marketing within the investment management industry, which should include direct management, development, and execution of marketing communication plans and initiatives.

  • Demonstrated success in developing US Wealth channel marketing initiatives that increase brand awareness and sales.

  • An entrepreneurial mindset and experience in building marketing strategies from the ground up.

  • A digital-first approach to marketing with experience utilizing an extensive stack of marketing technologies.

  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.

  • Excellent project management/organizational skills, including the ability to multitask, be consistently responsive, and manage changing priorities while meeting often strict deadlines.

  • Proven ability to interact effectively and professionally with senior executives, internal business partners, external clients, creative teams, and external vendors.

  • Demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness, and creativity; continuously seeking out ways to improve and elevate effective marketing strategies.

  • A passion for working in a creative and collaborative environment.

  • Experience working as part of a global team where team members are based in multiple global offices.

  • Understanding of the US wealth marketplace, including the regulatory and legislative landscape.

  • Knowledge of key investment vehicles and related regulations.

  • People management experience is desirable.

Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:

USD 80,000 - 180,000

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.

Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
