State of Massachusetts Marketing Coordinator in Boston, Massachusetts

The Operational Services Division’s (OSD) Marketing, Communications, and Events (MCE) team is looking for a creative, thoughtful, and detail-oriented individual to join the team as a Marketing Coordinator. *The ideal candidate is interested in working for the state government and being part of a fast-paced, goal-oriented organization and possesses the following characteristics: * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Eager to learn * Detail oriented and highly organized; able to successfully manage and prioritize several concurrent projects with competing deadlines * Able to work collaboratively and independently * Deadline- and outcome-focused. The OSD Marketing team is a five-person unit headed by the Director of MCE and reporting to the Assistant Secretary for Operational Services. MCE supports OSD’s programs across a variety of units, including Strategic Sourcing, Local Government Enablement, Training, the Commonwealth Print Shop, the Office of Vehicle Management, and others. *Job Functions * Participate as a member of the OSD Web Team, responsible for creating and updating OSD web content in the content management system and serving as a back-up for the OSD Web Manager. Also attend all user group meetings and training courses that are offered. * Event Planning and Support: Set up event registration; schedule speakers; research/order promotional items; draft outbound messages; manage speaker slides; provide post-event recordings/slides; develop post-event surveys; analyze survey and event outcomes. * Manage distribution lists across various applications * Oversee marketing collateral library; order printed materials for events/internal customers * Develop Lobby Monitor messaging/artwork * Update statewide contract logos * Support ongoing initiatives of MCE. _Preferred Requirements _ Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Marketing and Communications preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint and Excel, in particular _Bonus Points _ Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools; Adobe Creative Suite – specifically InDesign. Substitutions: I. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.* II.
