IANS Marketing Content Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

IANS Marketing is moving to the next level. We have ambitious goals for brand building and contributions to the business in terms of pipeline development. We will bring hyper relevant, engaging content to Information Security professionals that will make a difference to them and their companies.

The Marketing Content Manager is a talented writer who generates engaging and original content for our products, clients, and business. This involves topic research, writing, and editing interesting and informational content that will engage our audiences and support lead generation and brand building. The Marketing Content Manager will report to the Sr. Director of Demand Generation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Be externally focused on the Information Security industry and ecosystem, and specifically on the trends, issues, and challenges faced by Security leaders and their departments.

  • Participate in development of the content strategy and themes on which IANS will write.

  • Translate the strategy into our editorial calendar and manage the process for content creation.

  • Work with the Marketing team as well as IANS Research team members, Faculty, and other internal subject matter experts to create content assets, including blog posts, white papers, infographics, presentation decks, webinars, e-books, ad and email copy, etc.

  • Research and create briefs from which content can be drafted to align with marketing’s strategic initiatives.

  • Write, edit, and proofread content and layout.

  • Collaborate with internal and external writers and designers and m onitor the day-to-day progress of projects to ensure fact-checking, copy editing, image selection, web layout, proofreading, and final sign-off.

  • Organize and maintain our various content libraries.

    Candidate description and qualifications

  • You bring a deep understanding of content marketing, strategies, tactics, and best practices.

  • You demonstrate strong analytical, critical, and creative-thinking skills.

  • Your writing is superb with the ability to translate complex topics and technical language into compelling marketing communications.

  • You have a passion, perhaps even a compulsion, for proper grammar, spelling, and consistent usage in writing.

  • Your interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills are top notch.

  • You are effective working both independently and in a team environment.

  • Management of projects and deadlines is part of your DNA.

  • You can demonstrate 3 – 5 years’ experience in a content marketing role, as a writer and/or editor with at least 2 years’ experience in the security industry.

  • Experience writing to other technically oriented roles like IT or Finance is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
