Boston University MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST, School of Public Health in BOSTON, Massachusetts
The Marketing Communications Specialist will work closely with the Dr. Slavin and team members from collaborating institutions (Brown University and University of Pittsburgh) to assist in the development and implementation of effective communication strategies for two national centers: the Center on Health Services Training and Research (CoHSTAR) funding the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research; Learning Health System Rehabilitation Research Network (LeaRRn) funded by the National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research (NCMRR-NIH) to fund a new multidisciplinary center to promote learning health systems in rehabilitation. The Marketing Communications Specialist will help to manage websites, email marketing campaigns, social media and training activities and will be engaged in project meetings for both centers. A communications update will be a standing project meeting agenda item for both centers. The Marketing Communications Specialist will also be responsible for working with the teams to help develop and implement project management plans. The Marketing Communications Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of communication strategies for two national centers.
Essential functions for this position include:
Assist in the development and maintain websites for the two national research centers (20%)
Assist in the development and manage contact databases and email marketing campaigns for national marketing initiatives in both centers (20%)
Organize and manage online and in-person training activities for center participants (20%)
Use project management software to plan and manage research activities and milestones (20%)
Manage Social Media accounts for the research centers including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. (10%)
Participate in meeting and summarize activities for reports to program scientific leadership (10%)
Job requirements: BA in communication or related field. 1-3 years of work experience. Expertise in using the following programs: WordPress, Divi, Google Analytics, Illustrator, Photoshop, MailChimp, video editing and project management software.
