Marketing Associate Director, Thought Leadership

Waltham, MA or Remote

The Marketing Associate Director - Thought Leadership , is responsible for developing the Wolters Kluwer Health global thought leadership function for Clinical Effectiveness (CE), including execution through press, analyst relations, and campaigns with industry leading content. Reporting to the Global Audience Marketing Director, this leadership role will have a deep understanding of the CE strategy, portfolio, audience messaging framework, and will implement a thought leadership program to increase brand impact and perception, drive engagement, and support growth.

This role will manage a cohesive approach of executing this strategy through key channels and adopting best practices by establishing a methodology grounded in learning, data, and insights. Core to the thought leadership strategy is capturing and conveying CE’s voice, and storytelling through customer voice, working closely with customer experience and customer content teams.

A key aspect of this role is unifying thought leadership efforts and activities into a global function, including establishing a process of management and communication across teams in North America and International. In this capacity, this role will work closely with executive leadership and GTM teams, including product, editorial, and engineering, and be instrumental in collaborating with the Wolters Kluwer Health communications team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

As a key Programs leader in CE marketing, this role will work closely with the content team, revenue marketing, digital experience, and partner with product marketing to ensure cohesion in market messaging. Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Develop the CE global thought leadership program, and coordinate execution across CE and Health teams.

  • Be deeply aware of and trained on CE’s buying journey and audience key messaging framework across segments.

  • Create, manage, and measure strategic thought leadership campaigns.

  • Drive channel activation by collaborating with global marketing channel leads to align activities across the buyer journey.

  • Utilize communication programs, partners, and customer stories to support CE’s value message and reputation.

  • Build a global process of management to coordinate thought leadership messaging and activities across all regions.

  • Ensure all thought leadership and communications programs have measurable KPI’s.

  • Work in tight collaboration with the Wolters Kluwer Health team to contribute to Health’s communication programs with CE messages, proof points, and content.

  • Manage thought leadership resources, budget and operations.

  • Partner with third parties and agencies to research and adapt trends and insights.

  • Integrate core audience messaging into thought leadership messaging with value-based audience impact.

Other Duties:

  • Anticipates business and industry issues and recommends key inputs to CE’s three-year plan.

  • Communicates complex ideas (internally and externally) and drives adoption of different points of view grounded in data.

  • Manage and monitor program and campaign performance against scorecards and KPIs, and recommend optimization.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of broad marketing experience, with a history of addressing the needs of a large multi-product portfolio that serves the needs of multiple customer personas via content creation.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare/healthcare IT preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills, research orientation, and experience transforming a vision into an operational plan.

  • Experience developing global campaigns and executing through a multi-regional model.

  • Exposure to account-based marketing and digital marketing capabilities.

  • Excellent communicator and writer with an easy ability to transform ideas and innovations into compelling, impactful audience messages that grab the attention of our markets.

  • A collaborative leader that can draw teams together toward common goals and ambitions.

  • Ability to prioritize among many competing alternatives and plans, balance internal function needs with business priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results working cross-functionally with sales, marketing and product teams.

  • Proven success driving marketing strategies and plans.

  • Team management experience a plus.

Travel: Up to 20% travel

Work is typical of a normal office environment. As the business is global, sometimes calls/meetings will take place outside of typical local office hours.
