What will you do?

The Market Intelligence Manager will play a key role in the marketing strategy planning process for Thermo Fisher Pharma Services, supporting collection of market and customer intelligence, competitive dynamics, and strategic insights to improve our service offering and go-to-market strategy.

The Market Intelligence Manager will help map the current biopharma industry landscape, research target markets, evaluate competitive landscape, and identify market opportunities. The successful candidate will leverage both primary and secondary research, as well as capture information from experts and outside partners to build market models and user-friendly dashboards and tools to inform our marketing strategy. Significant manipulation of both quantitative and qualitative data will be required. The candidate may perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze data on competitors' tactics, market conditions, and customer demographics to report insights and implications for market planning

  • Monitor and forecast market growth and key macroeconomic and market / sales trends in the CDMO space; highlight opportunities for new initiatives

  • Analyze size of Pharma Services addressable market by region, market segment, and business line; size new market segment growth opportunities

  • Provide insights and recommendations regarding customer segmentation, customer and market dynamics and trends, and marketing-related activities

  • Analyze data using statistical programs, predictive analytics and other data-driven tools

  • Convert complex data findings into text, tables, graphs and data visualizations for presentation

  • Leverage a variety of external databases (e.g., IQVIA, Pharma Projects, EvaluatePharma, Citeline, Trial Trove) and internal data sources (Salesforce.com) to pull and analyze relevant data

  • Design, build and deploy reporting and BI solutions, including Power BI dashboards, to communicate business insights to stakeholders in Marketing and other functions

  • Develop and implement procedures for data validation and quality control of reports and queries

  • Leverage technology to coordinate, maintain and share reporting and insights

  • Leverage internal and external data sources to create, validate, and update claims and evidence-based proof points used in marketing collateral and external communications

  • Research customers' opinions, buying habits, preferences and wants/needs

  • Support the Marketing team with primary customer research, including, but not limited to, surveys, focus groups and in-depth interviews; synthesize findings into actionable insights

  • Support relationships with external research providers

How will you get there?

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in a relevant scientific discipline (Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, or related)

  • Advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline, Business Administration (MBA), or other quantitative field (i.e., Statistics, Math, Economics Decision Sciences) preferred

Experience:

  • 5+ years of work experience with 3-5 years' experience in financial modeling/ market analysis/ market development roles or 1-2 years' experience in top-tier consulting firms (McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or similar)

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and advanced skills in Excel and a data visualization tool such as Power BI

  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical/biotech/consulting/CMO firm for market intelligence

  • Experience estimating total addressable market size

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a complex, matrix business environment

  • Demonstrated ability to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets

  • Experience with quantitative Pharmaceutical-related databases

  • Strong work ethic, a sense of urgency, and a drive for accurate results

  • Experience with Salesforce.com (SFDC)

  • Ability to work independently and within a team to deliver results

  • Ability to lead and influence without formal authority

  • Travel
