Spindrift Market Development Specialist - Spindrift Spiked in Boston, Massachusetts

In March 2021, Spindrift announced it’s launching a delicious, cleaner take on hard seltzer this summer – Spindrift Spiked Sparkling Water. Come join the team and play a critical role as we launch our newest product across the US. The Market Development Specialist (MDS) should be based in Boston, MA, and willing and able to travel up to 80% of the time throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

This role will build the brand through direct account selling, distributor management, and in-market display and sampling execution. The MDS will maximize distribution and be the main point of contact for both on and off premise accounts in the assigned territory. Responsibilities for the role include:

Launch & Manage Spindrift Spiked

  • Directly manage solutions to grow business in assigned territories and increase market share for Spindrift Spiked

  • Build Spindrift Spiked by utilizing consumer and category trends to educate customers, solving problems and maximizing sales

  • Lead in-store selling, merchandising, marketing and execution for accounts

  • Achieve volume and distribution objectives against brand priorities

  • Plan and implement programs to deliver distribution, merchandising, display, and retail promotional objectives

  • Sell in displays & programs and support with in-store sampling (on and off premise)

  • Develop mutually valuable relationships with assigned customers, understanding their needs and requirements

  • Serve as the communication lead between key customers, wholesalers and internal teams

  • Deliver against Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and overall company goals

  • Drive market development with brand building, programming, and distribution activities with customers and Distributor Sales Reps, including participating in crew drives

  • 3+ years of experience working in alcoholic beverage

  • Demonstrated sales record and success working with distributors

  • Self-motivated with a proven history of delivering against KPI’s

  • Proficient use of Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-growth, start-up environment

  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Outstanding organization skills and strong attention to detail

  • Willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done, with ability to work long & flexible hours, including some nights and weekends

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift a case of product (20lbs) regularly with the ability and desire to physically assemble large displays

  • Must have regular access to a vehicle and be able to travel on a regular basis, up to 80% of the time
