Market Development Specialist – Process Liquid Preparation Services & Supplements

Reports to: Sr. Manager, Market Development

Location Onsite: Waltham, MA; Hunt Valley, MD; Miami, FL; Grand Island, NY

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Market Development Specialist to join our marketing team within the Supplements and Process Liquids and Preparation Services portfolio. This role is pivotal in crafting compelling content from conception to completion to help support our marketing strategies, with a strong emphasis on project management. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with Product Management, R&D, and commercial teams, as well as collaborate with global regions, marketing vendors, and our internal agency to ensure the development and delivery of high-quality content. Additionally, this individual will lead daily marketing operations, including supervising monthly marketing spend, processing purchase orders (POs) and the management of our marketing vendors.

Responsibilities:

  • Content Development:

  • Develop a variety of content types, including thought leadership articles, product brochures, application notes, sales enablement tools, case studies, and white papers.

  • Ensure all content is scientifically accurate, engaging, and aligned with the company's branding and legal guidelines.

  • Lead the entire content creation process from conceptualization to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality standards.

  • Project Management:

  • Lead content development projects, coordinating with internal and external team members to meet timelines and objectives.

  • Work closely with Product Management, R&D, and commercial teams to collect information and insights crucial for content creation.

  • Collaborate with regional teams to ensure content meets local requirements and is effectively used in all regions.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Engage with cross-functional teams within the marketing organization to align content strategy with overall marketing goals.

  • Liaise with external marketing vendors and the internal agency to facilitate the development and production of content.

  • Develop strong relationships with internal team members to collect input and feedback on content projects.

  • Marketing Operations:

  • Track and lead monthly marketing spend, ensuring budget adherence and financial accuracy.

  • Process purchase orders (POs) and invoices related to marketing activities.

  • Maintain accurate records of marketing expenses and provide regular updates to the marketing leadership team.

  • Quality Assurance:

  • Review and edit content to ensure transparency, coherence, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Implement feedback from team members and continuously improve content based on performance metrics and audience insights.

  • Marketing Strategic Planning:

  • Support the development of the overall content strategy, finding opportunities for new content formats and channels.

  • Supervise industry trends and competitor activities to advise content development and stay ahead of market demands.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • 4+ years of prior experience in a Market Development or Marketing Communications role.

  • Confirmed experience in content development and project management within the life science industry.

  • Familiarity with marketing operations, including budget tracking and processing POs.

  • Highly organized, independent contributor able to deliver on plans and timelines.

  • Shows good judgment, remains flexible, and quickly responds positively to constantly evolving priorities and circumstances.

  • Standout colleague who is prepared to accomplish critical objectives to drive business and financial outcomes.

  • Exceptional analytical, project management and planning skills necessary.

  • Expertise with Microsoft Office tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, and experience with project management software.

Preferred Qualifications (nice to have):

  • Experience in technical writing and the ability to produce detailed technical documents.

  • Experience with graphic design.

  • Experience in Bioprocessing/Bioproduction marketing.

The starting salary for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 annually

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $75,000.00–$95,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
